This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

The majority of the nation who voted, voted for him. He won the electoral college, and he won the popular vote - by 2.3 million votes.

The majority of the eligible voters in the U S didn’t vote for him. By a HUGE margin. And don’t get me started on the way the GOP has limited access to voting for disadvantaged voters.

There is no way his views and policies on anything can be accurately portrayed as representing the views and aspirations of the majority of US citizens.

He wants to control the information . During covid the numbers of infected and deaths went up and up. The numbers of chickens being killed is also increasing . One outcome is egg prices going up . During the election he kept on saying he will bring the price of eggs down . Hos critics and BF will hammer him over it

Any country porpurting to be 'first world's shouldn't rely on an underclass of illegal immigrants do prop up their labour industry.

We do that here (and not just here) as well, it's called the gig economy, and not just the gig economy.

BUT - it's far better for those immigrants (who'll likely know they're getting shafted in the first place) working those jobs for less than an american would instead going back to whatever hell they'd be going back to.

AND - it's far better for the whole country because, as you likely know, no else will do those shitty jobs. IF an american does these shitty jobs (unlikely) then they'll be paid higher wages and then that will be forced onto the consumer.

So if drumph just let it go it'd be the least worst option for everyone, now we've just got the worst possible option.

Trump is testing the limits of his power Week 1. Once he knows he can break precedent and law, he won't stop...until he's instilled as King.

This sounds farfetched, but it's the from the literal oligarchy playbook. See what you can get away with, and keep pushing the boundaries until the line between law and 'order for the country' is blurred enough that instilling no term limits seems like the right thing to do.

He's not ****ing around this time. The man believes he's a messenger from God, and was spared to bring about his will. He's also backed by the richest man on the planet, and the majority of his nation. This abuse of power is just the beginning.

Depressingly, Trump's approval ratings across the US public are higher than ever.

Tough times are coming though, the question will be whether the general public can see through the lie when the blame is inevitably shifted onto the next scapegoat.
