Specifically: reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed.

Personal attacks are also to be kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder, even if it hasn't come up for a few pages and y'all should know this stuff by now:

This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Do not post conspiracy theories on this forum. We have an entire other forum for that.

Thanks all.

As always, please submit ideas for the thread title by tagging Gethelred! We're looking for something new to match the new thread!

I am guilty of that,
I read Brietbart and The Gate Way pundit.
Yes I should not the articles and comment section is unreal.
Why do I do it just gives me a view of how these people think.

Reading other perspectives is a good idea in theory. Otherwise we all just stay in our bubbles.

A few years ago I decided I needed to watch a bit of Sky News just to understand their perspective, or at least what they were saying. I steered clear of the likes of Bolt and Jones, but even watching five minutes of Rita P, or the guy who looks like Krusty, or the other guy who looks like Penfold (from Dangermouse) was painful. I could literally feel my brain cells dying in protest at having to process their inanity. It wasn’t just discordant underlying values, it was that they were incapable of presenting a coherent argument, even from their starting point.

I only stuck out that exercise for a month or two.

Trump ain't reading all that.
Next minute. On truth social.

"That evil man from Colombia made a nasty nasty comment. So I will respond with my usual long paragraph of word dribble, making sure I make s**t up along the way. So my low IQ fan base will lap it up and send him death threats. Because they don't care about facts, just rage baits. Whilst my thin skinned self, overreacts and sends threats myself. Just like that evil leftie church lady. How dare she tell me to feel empathy for other human beings? Why is everyone else so nasty? Don't look at me though, my posts are always "nice"".

Come on. If you want to make that believable you need to spell ‘Columbia’ correctly.

take it with a grain of salt, its build by the Chinese of cause its going to say that.
The Nvidia share price is down over 20%.
Alphabet (Google) dropped 5%.

The Nasdaq lost a trillion dollars.

The bull market on AI is over in the US, because a Chinese-made equivalent was made for a fraction of the price of the US versions.

The problem in the US tech market is that there isn't real competition. Good ideas get bought up by the same 3 or 4 big companies.

Then act like oligopolies and get smashed by Chinese versions who act in real competition.

BYD and MG are putting US car makers like Tesla to the sword, particularly in the EV market. BYD outsold Tesla by a million vehicles last year. The resurgence in the US Stock market is because of the amount of money sloshing around, not because of any lasting economic success.

Trump is about to take the stage at the Trump National Doral Miami, where he played golf this morning, to address House Republicans at their annual retreat.

Nyt

According to CNN’s Betsy Klein, Trump was asked onboard Air Force One on Saturday whether he’d have time to play golf while visiting the resort. “No. I don’t think so. I’m busy,” he reportedly replied.

Lol

If China catching up in AI development is replicated in their microchip capability, (i.e. if a Chinese company can make a chip to compete with Nvidia's chips (made in Taiwan) as well as their AI). Then the party will really be over for the US stock market as global competitors will flood the market.

There's so much money floating around over there it'll just end up invested in something else is my guess.

Coming out. USA to save the world again and just in time

Trump's freezing of foreign aid is having horrific effects on the lives of some of the poorest people in the world, as organisations in Africa have been told to stop dispensing HIV medication that was purchased with US aid.

Awful global health implications even beyond the WHO withdrawal.

Appointments are being canceled, and patients are being turned away from clinics. Many people with H.I.V. are facing abrupt interruptions to their treatment.

Without treatment, virus levels in people with H.I.V. will quickly spike, hobbling the immune systems of the infected people and increasing the odds that they will spread the virus to others.

About one in three untreated pregnant women may pass the virus onto their babies.

Interrupted treatment may also lead to the emergence of resistant strains that can spread across the world.

One study estimated that if PEPFAR were to end, as many as 600,000 lives would be lost over the next decade in South Africa alone. And that nation relies on PEPFAR for only 20 percent of its H.I.V. budget. Some poorer countries are almost entirely dependent on the program.

You see that with the whole Greenland thing. Greenland already is essentially run by the US, with military bases and what have you. But Trump has a 19th century concept of empire, and doesn’t seem to understand the incompatibility of this post-1945.

Imperial Britain had a huge stake in Argentina, but saw the wisdom of not having to administer the country.

It’s been the US approach up to now. Running the place is an unneccesary overhead.

Strange thing is, if this twat had worn a cap into an RSL and refused when asked to take it off, the HUN readership base would be wanting him deported.
I’m well aware how passionate people are about hats in RSLs.

Also wearing a MAGA hat in St Kilda isn’t going to be well received by everyone considering the beliefs some of those supporters hold.
