I've liked him for years, but 25 is way overs IMHO for a bloke that the Dogs didn't really value so much any more and didn't give a lot of senior game minutes to this year.

Schnoz got played.

I don’t know what the actual F Bevo is doing, and why he doesn’t rate certain players. I place no value on that. Watching his press conferences is to witness a man on the cusp of male menopause and not coping.

Brady got played? Eh. I would’ve been disappointed if it fell through. I’m glad to have him. At any cost? No. At 25? Yep.

Caleb has been one of my favourite players since we drafted him. Someone once said he holds the ball like an Easter egg, and I have never been able to shake that thought.

Anyway, others have already posted on here what he will do for your team, I will just add that he is incredibly hard to tackle and often gets a free for a high tackle, he is also incredibly strong, probably our strongest player.

I hope you enjoy what he brings and look after him, I will always cheer him on except when he plays the Bulldogs.

I didn't see other clubs clamoring for his services.

We were the only ones irresponsible enough to give up a high second round pick for for him.

He'll be good for us, and I like him, but we overpaid.

Get 50-70 good games out of Daniel.

What would we get from 25?

Probably less than 10 games. Maybe 50 games based on potential like Aaron black and most likely not any more.

Picks are speculative and we’ve crushed the draft the last 5 years. We needed a sure 50-60 games, not another lotto ticket

The length of the contract worries me, we are collecting players on longer term contracts to get them over and repeatedly find out they aren’t what we hoped.

Now he is here I hope he goes well.
They’re all heavily front ended so it wont matter if they have one or two on the clock. Will cost nothing in regard to cap space to flick em on

Releases Kerch to the wing

Expecting round 1 to be something like:

Archer - Logue - Corr
Daniel - Chom - Goater

Maybe even Hardeman or W Dawson in the mix.

Sounds good to me.
Chom will be a forward next year. Dawson is slated for CHB and is rated quite highly.

Picks 21-30 average 91 games for their career and 41.3 coaches votes. That is basically Zurhaars career from about a season ago.

That is all time and tightening up year on year with modern drafting.

There's 2 sentences in that profile which may explain why we targeted him:

"Below the knees his hands are excellent and he doesn’t ever fumble with his pickups always clean.
When receiving a handball irrelevant of how poor the handball is, whether it’s behind him, on the ground or too far in front of him he collects it cleanly without breaking stride".
Bahahah. Was going to post the same.

He may have cost overs, but he should be worth it if it means we some experience down back who can offer a cool head amongst the chaos.

He should be given the kick in duties, and that will mean a huge reduction in stupid turnovers inside our defensive 50's that cost games.

Welcome to North Caleb.

Problem here is he doesn't kick the ball overly long.

So when he has no option because all of our duds are incapable of leading into space, he's at best going to kick to a contest on our defensive 50, rather than 10-20 metres further.

Leaving him to get bbq'ed on the rebound when the ball comes straight back towards him with an opposition key forward that was manning the mark for the kick in as his nearest opponent.

Whilst I think 25 was overs he's a good get and will make us better immediately. Plus it frees up Kerch to move further up field
Exactly what I was thinking he will help our our young lads in the HB but I reckon for that pick 25 would have been Kayle Gerryn who us boys were all eyeing out in the draft

In fairness just because the North board was looking at him doesn't mean he's on our draft board.
