Grant is a quality player who is going to win more games for us than he will lose.

Give the guy a break, he will have a cracker next week against the Swans. No way should he be dropped. I'm still shocked it's even been suggested.

The boys will get back on the winning track this week, against all odds at the SCG.

North loves the SCG. I think we are something like 19 wins from 26 games...and the Swans have won the last three from memory.

he's played two very ordinary games for us the last two weeks...and he's been tagged right out of the game....i'm getting short of patience myself cause i know a young fighter desperate to break into the squad and impress by the name of harris

dropping shannon would be a big downfall for the club which we dont need, I think that to drop a player of his ability after one pretty poor performance(when he'd been injured 2 times in the game) would be really unfair on him, the team loses and we drop a top highly rated player, if we did that everytime we lost with poor performers we'd be getting rid of the whole team, sydney are going to be hungry for wins and at the scg they are feirce and so am I that this has even been mentioned!!! who's gonna come into the team and do better for him anyway??? Sinclair can replace blakey and our midfielders on paper are one of the best in the league, shannon is one of the players who put his body under every pack the other night and tried kicking goals, fact is he stuffed up a little but dont bag the kid who tries, shane clayton is much worse and it's insulting that people could say shannon would get dropped before sharne, go shags I love u and u always play well at the scg, no matter what some people say(not talking about people who have backed him up here)

You're kidding arent you?

I like Harris as much as the next supporter and hope he develops into a gun. But how could you possibly justify droppong Grant?

Yes he was tagged out of the game against Geelong, but do you drop Choppy for the same reason? Shagga has had 1 quite game. He was hardly appalling against the Dogs, setting up several forward plays with intelligent passing and comp[sore under pressure and he is a massive key to our midfield. You take him out of the side, and all of a sudden Harvey gets the best tagger, and Simmo the next, and King the next and so on. Grant is all class and plays alot more quality games than he plays poor ones. Get off the grass mate!

i think shannon grant is in our top 5 players, im just dissapointed with his efforts the last 2 rounds, several times he didnt bother to chase.

he is all class, dont get me wrong and we'd be lost without him at the club, im just asking for consistency.

two wins out of three and your gonna start aiming the gun at core players who help lead the team.

start shifting the young guns before you pick of the cream

theres people in the twos like sinclair... bourke...and those tall forwards have been kicking the goals should be given a go.

All the morons who are, albeit unforeseenly, thirsty for the blood of Shannon Grant after his average performance on Saturday night, cast your feeble minds back to early in the match when he was crunched and jelly-legged for the next while or so. He never, nor would anyone, fully recover in the next hour or two after a whack to those proportions.

Get off the mans back. He is a class act, and will kick some arse this week.

Everyone, regardless of whether yo ubaggd him or not should remember this: no matter how good (or crap for that matter) a player is, the reality is that you will always have your good days and your bad days. Some might say a player has more bad days than good and vice verse, but you still have both. At the end of the day they are all human and can have off days and make 'silly mistakes'. Like me, have faith in Grant to reproduce his form that led him to win the '99 Norm Smith medal.

... and 2001 Best & Fairest!

Who in their right mind would criticise him after a pretty solid start to the season? His "bad" game against Geelong still yielded 18 possessions.

I'm not sure there are too many Grant baggers on here. I think it was just one imbecile who called for his head. We can't be that bad a group of supporters, can we?

Correct Windsock. Hardly a common theme has been bagging of Grant. Has become one of our more consistent and important players, and having a quiter game probably highlights his importance even more.

I think there are many, many more concerns on the playing field than the performance of Grant.

What is happening with Shannon Grant?

He can't kick well anymore and I have never seen him fumble so much as he did on Sunday. He was supposedly on Camporeale in the first quarter and didn't get near him. The out on the full in the last minute summed up his day.

And then Rexxy has given him three votes - ahead of Boomer, Simmo, Spider, Digby etc..

He has the skills so I hope he turns it around real Quick...

He was better on Sunday then he has been against Sydney/Geelong- his possies didnt always turn out the greatest, but he had more possies.. and I saw more of him..
He'll come good.

Go Roos

Thank God for this post, I was starting to think I was the only one thinking he had a shocker...actually I think he has been pretty average for a couple of weeks now...

When I read the papers and stats, I wondered whether I was at the same ground...

Maybe all of his stats were at the Coventry end where I couldn't see them...

Rex gave him 3 votes? That's ridiculous... He has his best game for a few weeks, but he let Camporeale run free in the first 10-15 minutes. I hope Pagan learnt the lesson of putting him on such a dangerous player. Grant is not a good defensive player.

Everyone is human. No matter how good (or cr@p for that matter) they are, players will have their good days and have their bad days. Grant has shown his quality before (eg '99 Norm Smith Medallist, last years B&F) and he is probably going thru a bad patch, so let's all give him a chance and i am sure he can get some of that form back.

you could cut and paste this post into the Colbert thread... change Grant to Colbert and remove the sentence in brackets...

Shannon is my favorite player... and I could even see he was playing only relatively better then one L.Colbert...
