I'm not replying to all of that - I'd just say that you should actually follow the media around A-League before you say I'm only guessing. The vast majority of what I've written has been reported by either Davutovic, Lynch, Gatt, or SBS - you don't get much more reliable than that.

The other bits that aren't widely reported came from someone I know, whose credibility has been proven a couple of times on this board twice on the last 6 months or so.

I haven't guessed anything - I've given an opinion based on readily available facts. You should try it.

I wonder whether you're one of those who squeals about AFL academies or the COLA - what the FFA have done is worse.

With all due respect, quoting media speculation doesnt make it fact. It's a reasonable basis to work from, but not fact.

I highly doubt Cahill will be receiving the entirety of the fund, but again, I'm only speculating.

The fund is for players that have pure star power and bring external interest to the comp. For that reason Holman is not worthy. Hell if Fornaroli isnt worth the marquee funds then the bar has to be set at Diego Forlan or higher level.

One of the best sides in A-League history and the last couple of seasons they've been nothing short of atrocious. The youth first policy brought in was never the right decision, look where the club is at now.

I hope they can get things right with the new coach and actually get a decent enough squad together.

Rudan would only do it if he had an immediate, burning desire to coach at the next level I think. Sydney Croatia/United are a pretty wealthy state league club - when you also factor in the work he does for Fox Sports on some Fridays, on Saturdays, and on the recap show on Mondays, I strongly suspect he'd have to take a pay cut if he was going to coach the Mariners.

I agree that Arthur Papas is a pretty good candidate - but I'm pretty sure he runs a coaching school out in the western suburbs of Melbourne. He'd also have a pretty major decision to make if he were offered the job.

Tough job for whoever gets it, particularly with how average the squad is. As much as I hate to say it, Arnie did wonders at CCM.

They're first XI looks serviceable. Beneath that they don't have much though.

Phoenix have signed Marco Rossi, looks like a good pickup by them. Has a decent pedigree. They've done really well in the off season.

He's at least equal to or better than what we've currently got at LB on what will be close to the minimum wage. Good signing IMO.
The salary cap basically ensures no club has decent full backs in this competition.

He's been offered to a few clubs. Seems like Brisbane are the ones who are really keen.

Not sure what sort of signing he'd be, he was offered to Adelaide United 2 years ago but I reckon he's done now.
