The word from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

end of year standings

Old Brighton
Old Ivanhoe
Xavs
Old Scotch

SBMT
OEG
Blues
Collegians
Marcellin
De La

this weeks matches

OB vs OS - we won't lose too many games this year, 2 fit and firing goalkickers with the best midfield in the comp. Scotch will play finals.
SBMT vs OEG - very tight one, agree with Boga won't be any different to other games, tigers at home. OEG to cause some big upsets, just fall short of finals.
Mar vs OI - rattled home last year, will be top 2 all year barring injuries. Marc unlucky this year.
UB vs Coll - blues in a close one, looked like they had picked up a few handy players in the praccy match. collegians to be sliders this year, adkins big loss.
XAVS vs De La - Xavs for mine, shouldn't be written off. will feature in finals. long year for De La.

OB vs OS = Old Scotch
Marc vs OI = Old Ivanhoe
SBMT vs OEG = SBMT
Uni vs Coll = UNI
Xavs vs De La = XAVS

Looking forward to some cracking footy from the number one suburban league in VIC.

Old Brighton - and they should win the whole comp by 10 goals on paper...

Old Ivanhoe (some really good kids, if have a good run with injuries look out)
St Bedes (have been unfairly written off)
Uni (but who knows who turns up for Uni)
Xavs (JG Hornet - why so bullish on De La?)

OB vs OS
(on the basis of their recruitment - if they can't win this then they are in trouble - so much for the emotional meeting post R18 last year as it will mean nothing)

Marc vs OI (they are just beautiful this team)
SBMT vs OEG ('on the bit')
Uni vs Coll (hard fit this year)

Xavs vs De La ( pipe cleaner)

If C.Cavanagh is pushing for 1s selection at De La after jumping ship from Old Xavier, they will not win a game. He was a borderline player for there Club 18 team last year apparently.

peter spence has come to our club, like to know how he will go in EFL Div1,he played at Marcellin, i was told he is very good midfield player.

Koff, splutter. Taking your tipping seriously this year, TBP? Or do you know something we don't?

I think there's a lot of Phil Hughes about the boys this year. Very keen to face the first ball but their best results will come in few weeks time once they find their feet. We'll go ok this week though... better than our last trip to the postage stamp!

Congrats to my good pal down at Tigerland Brett Collins. He must hold some sort of record. Entering hospital for the 876th time on Friday to have a couple of pins put in his broken hand. Out for about 3 months me hears. Jenna will have you back in no time.

I was extremely interested to hear the comments of the out going St Bedes coach in that a football club needs to hit rock bottom before they can even attempt to be successfull . They have obviously put in alot of work in placing the right people in strategic positions within the club to achieve optimum gain even right down to the kiosk staff . I personally dont see a problem in renumerating the correct person for the kiosk position even if they are a partner of a senior player . So cynics , opinions to yourselves please .
