WTF was I thinking?! You're right. Would you believe I was talking only about goals kicked with their left foot?Sttew - WTF ? Ablett would kick more than 5 goals !!
If he does come back he can help with player payments. To old, to slow, to rich.
Can't see Gold Coast winning any flags anytime soon either although apparently they will win a flag in 2 years.
What makes you think Ablett jnr. is a great trainer now? From what I hear he's pretty average.
He made his bed and he can lie in it as far as I'm concerned. It's a no from me.
You heard wrong - he has been used as an example many a time both at Geelong (after 06) and especially now at GC of how you should train. He would have to take a helluva pay cut to come back, thats for sure.
In 06 he was a shit trainer, after that he has been about average. He's just that good he can get away with it.
You really think he's on Joel Corey levels training wise? Come now...

Yep I do.
From what I have heard and read he's the height of professionalism in terms of recovery, diet and staying away for drugs and alchohol.
To the extent that he makes his own ice baths, eat organic etc. After 2006 he always performed well in the results on the track that were reported too. Usually would finish in the top 3 or 4 for most of the runs and stuff.
I didn't mention anything about him being a "great trainer", just that he regularly trains. Ablett Sr had the rock star attitude about him, and only turned up when he felt like it - which wasn't all that often as Malcolm Blight has said in the past. The wear and tear from regular training may limit Gary Jnr's career in terms of how old he is when he retires, it may not. The point I'm making is that by the time his current contract is up, he may not be of much use to anyone anyway. Irrespective of the reasons why Gary left, I do not pine for him to return - the Ablett name to me is just a family of ex-players now. Some of you here really need to live in the present. What makes you think Ablett jnr. is a great trainer now? From what I hear he's pretty average.
There's no doubt in my mind he will be back, possibly sooner then we think also.
Some of you here really need to get over his departure. Yes, he left for more money but there may be more to the story then just that.
I reckon the chances of this happening are slim, but if it could engineered it would be great. GAJ is a once in a generation freak, and still IMO the No.1 player in the competition by a mile.We don't need him and I wouldn't want to see a more loyal player lose out because of him, but as time heals wounds I'd consider it. But not fussed either way as have really moved on and we are evolving beautifully thank you.

Let's be honest.
He's the best player the game has seen. I'd take him back so easily, it's not even funny.
However, if by 2016, he comes back and every line in our team is just top notch elite, I won't be pulling anyone out for him. Takes time to build champion teams, and Gaz won't be ruining it.

Are you telling me that players like Pendlebury and Franklin weren't offered similar contracts by the expansion sides?
