AFLW 2024 - Round 6 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
It's clearly BS. Obviously the truth is somewhere in the middle of all this. And McLeod was almost universally admired and respected as a player.
Goodes used to be, but he's tarnished his legacy as his career has gone on.
McLeod is decisive as well (in the context you use); he's very strong and very vocal and passionate about the issues he sees... But he's not a self obsessed tosser who tries to be a martyr all of the time.
People boo Goodes because he's a knob; he seems to be so self absorbed that he refuses to believe this, how could anyone boo Dual Bronwlow medallist (he shouldn't have win that second one, anyway) Adam Goodes?!?
It must be because people are racist.
There's many within the indigenous community who after the last 200 years would say stick your positivity up your arse and start fixing things.
And in many ways they have a point.
I don't want to sound rude...but duh. It's actually worse in most countries.
Easy, just be continually accused of racism and not apologising for everythingHow do you "live like a white man"?
Ask Kidd Viciousis 'boy' a term you often use when speaking about grown men or just when speaking about ones of a certain colour?
Andrew McLeod is a massive advocate for his people, speaks out about important issues frequently, does a huge amount of positive work without seeking fanfare as a result. He's extremely proud of his heritage.
How often was he booed as a player???
How is he viewed now??
Ah not a war cry aimed at the opposition crowd would be a good start. Maybe if he wanted to be a positive role model in this round donate match payments to bettering programs in indigenous communities..What would you have him do that is ok to represent his heritage?
Interesting Adam just called it a war cry himself. Not a war dance. There are many dances in Indigenous culture
If you are not intimidated by a challenge you wouldn't need to respond. You are also making an assumption that Goodes was responding to a challenge... Like I said earlier, as an AOTY there are better ways he could have gone about recognising his heritage.
FFS.
