Would be interesting to hear what Dodoro was saying about Saad when he was negotiating to get him 3 years ago for a future 2nd Round Pick that became Pick 35 2018 and was on-traded to get Bailey Williams to West Coast. Bent them over saying he's going home so if you don't take it he'll go to the pre-season draft no doubt.
Only Carlton used a selection in that years pre season. We try to get as much bang for buck but we are not petty and immature with empty threats like this

Wouldn't have thought so.. Get two top twenty selections for the price of one?

Like, literally no way (apart from our own drafting) would this be a poor decision.

The higher rated kids are the ones we know most about. Wilfully trading out of that opportunity with the state of your list would yield terrible results for you. You might get lucky but why chance it?

Yeah that’s fair how about 2 second rounders for saad ?

Removing the butting of heads with Skull Face and your good self, why aren't Dow and O'Brien not developing as quickly as one would hope?

There are three guys that genuinely interest me and another two we would be silly to not ask the question about.

Dow (187cm/83kg), Stocker (184cm/83kg), O'Brien (184cm/78kg) and we would be silly to not ask the question of Tom De Koning (203cm/97kg) and Brodie Kemp (192cm/82kg) despite almost knowing the answer to the polite enquiry.

I still hold hope of Carlton's 2021 first rounder, doubt it happens. I have always held firm that Carlton won't have pick 7 come draft night and will be involved with Saad somehow.

We are talking about picks in the teens NOT speculative picks late in the draft.

Some of these kids would be watched and monitored for the past 3 years.

come on, you've got to be better than this mate

Besides kemp i dare say the club may consider the other 3 but that’s all speculation. As for the development has not really been a strength of ours

Preaching to the choir (re development). People bag dodoro with trades but his drafting has been pretty reasonable when you break down what he has brought into the club. Our development must be some of the poorest in the competition over the last decade. It's embarrasing

That data is 12 months out of date for a lot of them.

Correct call but to suggest not trying to garner multiple picks in the top 20 is silly is silly in itself.

Almost all recruiters should be asking those clubs with multiple picks in the teens what they would be willing to take. You guys are talking about the exact same question.

IF anything, getting two talented kids is better than one for a club and list like ours in it's current climate.

I could see us trading pick 7 plus 27 to the doggies for 13 and next year's first. One of those for Saad should do the trick.

Doggies get a lot moree points for JUH.

Yes because we want to trade those picks, not use them.

you said it would be a bad move if we went with two picks in the teens and not had a single pick inside the top 10

I said trading your only top 10 pick for two picks in the teens is silly as the furthee you move away from 1 in this draft your picks becomes more of a raffle. Thats why those with multiple picks in the teens are open to trading them.

To do so, with the intention of using those picks in the draft rather than trading is poor list management. Especially so given the state of your list. Because its cooked. Spine gone, midfield now in the wrong age bracket and not balanced to begin with, culture issues leading to an exodus, and a divisive coach.

You need hope. You need to nail your pick 6 and build around him. Trading out of the top 10 says "we still think we're close to the right mix". You arent. Youre quite a way off it.

I wouldn't mind trading it for two picks in the teens. As it stands, a lot of guys in the 7 - 13 range are smaller midfielders or key defenders, something we don't neccesarily need right now. If we got two midfielders in the teens instead of a higher rated small midfielder then that is good list management imho.

I would prefer O'Driscoll and Perkins than only Will Phillips.

Midfielders? Were I in a position of influence I would suggest going for the KPDers. You cant teach height and you cant forget it. Its a good place to start.
