Looks like another no call on Simmo and he'll roll this shit-show on and on and on, regardless of results, at least the end of the year.

Sounds like simmo has gotten a bunch of yes men as captains.

You can’t be an adequate captain when you don’t really feel like you should be.

u-571 movie has a beautiful life quote for Duggan that he should remember.

“Don't you dare say what you said to the boys back there again, 'I don't know.' Those three words will kill a crew, dead as a depth charge. You're the skipper now, and the skipper always knows what to do whether he does or not”.

Out of interest, what would have been an answer to satisfy the mob?

It was a dogshit game that 99% of people agree was the coach killer. You can't rectify a performance that bad in a presser, so what good is it getting mad about them saying they're going to own the result and do better - what the **** else can they say?

Keeping in mind, of course, if they say the exact perfect response it won't make a difference because it's the on field response that is all that matters from here. Pissed off for the sake of being pissed off areas when we bring the microscope out over press conferences.

That scene in land of the dead, where the zombies crash the main accommodation and start eating everyone, except it's the players & coaches eating each other alive.

All whilst Sam Mitchell makes a cameo throwing Gatorade everywhere.

When they say they are “going” to own it, it means to me they haven’t owned it yet and hope to own it some time in the future. They know they should own it, but somehow can’t and look forward to doing that.

Lucky Duggan was one of the best who tried his guts out.

Simpson already flagged that many changes unlikely as he wasn’t even thinking about this game but rather the performance in the Essendon game when asked about changes.

He could have said that they will make changes this week. And changes aren’t bringing gaff in for maric.

Love the reply, thanks for making me smile and chuckle amongst this mess mate 🙂 😂

Journalists need to better when Duggan says he owns it ask what it is he owns.. when he trots out the standard company line ask “Liam do you own the fact that for the past three years your disposal has been ordinary and you struggle to put a kick to a teammates advantage or infact kick most times struggle to get within the same postcode of your team mate.. do you own this and what have you done to rectify this “?

If the players really want to own it, how about a public apology to the members for the crap they dished up on
Sunday.
Owning it is a over used buzzword. When you really own something it means you have paid for it. A good place to start for the team would be to give back their match payments.
The Club should give the members a credit to be used against next years membership.

Want another Nisbett email?

Surprisingly the coach said post game 'It's not a catastrophe'.
If that game wasn't a catastrophe, what is?

Everyone from the head coach to the midfield coach to the captain has said 'we have to own that', which is kind of obvious, as opposed to what, disown it - 'Oh that wasn't us, it was somebody else?' :tearsofjoy:

Anyway, they'll probably all turn up really switched on with 'serious intent' expressions on their faces, and probably put on a good game - but hope the coach shows up with some new intent in the gameday tactics and changes

We don't know what Melbourne would turn up but for Simmo it better not be a good one.
Am expecting the good version of Melbourne to rock up, home deck, and pay back for their Optus loss?
Not too fussed if Weagles lose, as long as it's a hard contested game, not a fat margin and see some positives...as long as it's a big swingaround from last week's misery and pathos!

Probably not a football game.

Catastrophe
noun
  1. 1.
an event causing great and usually sudden damage or suffering; a disaster.
    "an environmental catastrophe

The game on the weekend was devastating. Simpson was right about one thing at least - “nothing good came from it.”

Strengthened team playing against middling opposition at home and didn’t fire a shot. I don’t remember any time in the game when we had the momentum.

Surely that is the last straw for Pyke, and he and his committee are sussing out who might be the new coach.
Interesting all the players being rolled out to say it was no good. This morning it was Hunt. Generalised
criticism as expected.

Simpson looking for new house in Melbourne or going back to the old one he rented?
