I'm not convinced he can't play. In the Geelong debut he had 4 effective disposals from 68% TOG. Hardly any different to Betts, Murphy and Tex who all had 6 from 82%, 80% and 86% respectively. Last year v Swans he had 3, same as Walker, Murphy had 6 and Stengle 7. He's not been much worse than the other guys up forward and he's never had the benefit of contuinuity and knowing he's getting a block of games to find his feet.

I would've replaced McAdam with Davis weeks ago for a 3-4 week stint. I know we are trying to reinvent him as another half back (even though half our list is playing there), but he's been on the list long enough you need to see if he's going to step up to the level. If not, just delist him.

Rubbish, Laird is getting his hands on the ball in contested situations as stoppage mids are meant to do. And you’ve only listed a bunch of excuses for Sloane. He’s 9 games back from his eye injury and it’s him (or his brother) that’s chosen to play with the finger injury. You guys and your man crushes on Sloane are hilarious. He’s a total passenger at the moment. We can argue the value of Laird’s ball winning ability, but at least he wins it and isn’t being carried by his teammates.

I don’t get why some people who post on this forum actually support the club. I’ve yet to read a positive post from some people. From Jimmy Rowe to Rory Sloane. Negative, negative, negative

I get Friday night was annoying and we played horrible, but it just seems too hard to post something positive.

why do they even support this club?

Unfortunately lots on this board will highlight and complain about a players few deficiencies, while ignoring what they do well.

Drama is addictive and negative posts are more dramatic and therefore get more attention than positive posts.

Normal life scenarios + drama = today's TV shows.

From a different perspective, what about Davis himself..been here years for 2 games. His confidence for ever getting picked must be shattered. He should be looking to get out to see if anyone else would offer him a spot on a list

B grade is currently our version of elite. They're all battlers in there. Rory is clearly more injured than his finger and despite being the only mid that runs forward with the ball from contests, Keays is a worse user and decision maker than Laird. Individually, they all have a place in 'a' midfield but as a group, the can't be 'the' midfield. And that we refuse to deploy them to other roles for their 80%+ TOG exasperates the problem. Ultimately it's a monumental failure of coaching philosophy. Individually they're not to blame. Well, maybe Sloane playing hampered and with that bung finger instead of focussing on next year. Actually, probably Keays too with that webbing issue. But at least he's still getting his hands on it at a serviceable rate.

ironic that the post was responding to a bloke that bagged Laird for not using his 33 disposals well enough but loses his shit if someone says Sloane isn't up to scratch with his 18 touches whilst performing the same role but with more TOG. And uses the ball no better.

You don't need to waste your time with Davis. Delist and move on.

It's a fallacy to say you need to see a kid at an AFL level to make a call on their future. Sometimes SANFL says enough.

i've seen him at AFL level and he looked no worse than stars of the game. Sometimes SANFL tells you nothing.

Last night's game highlighted again why Rory should be out of the centre clearances imo
I haven't watched a lot of North this year but Ziebell's game was huge and looked like he could go on for a while.

Now only if we had someone to replace down there.

I think long term its easier to replace down back than up forward and allows Gollant/Cook to slot in sooner.

It allows development of midfield rotations for the long term.
