Half joking/half serious

Is there any element of, “you try telling Dangerfield he isn’t playing”

Rory decided if he would have surgery or not. He decided if he was ready to go.

Who actually decides who goes in for the centre bounces? Does Laird, Keays and Sloane decide and just orders the Berry, Pedler and Schoenberg to a flank.

you try telling Rory Laird he’s not getting his 30 irrelevant touches this week?

I'll take Lairds 30 over Sloane's 20 all day every day. And Laird doesn't need to hog nearly 90% TOG to get his 30.

I’d like to get some extra trade currency, but hard to see which of our players has any and we could bear to lose.

Crouch is the obvious one with FA compo, but the only other ones that I could see getting pick inside 40 and which I would be happy to lose are

1. seedsman- but is he too old for a top 40 pick, even in AA form?
2. Macasey - I think his market value is waaaay lower than we paid - maybe around pick 25
3. Smith - maybe a pick in the 40 range but he seems such a good clubman I’m worried trading him would do more damage than the pick is worth
4. Macadam - maybe a pick around 40?
5. Kelly - maybe a pick around 40?

The others are too old for a high pick, not good enough for a high pick, or on my keepers list.

a package of the crouch compo and one of the others listed above could probably get us a pick in the teens.

Need to sack or head recruiter
To think Jamara Ugle-Hagan was worth selecting over Riley Tilthorpe

Dodged a bullet on that one.
I realise this is a joke but we knew there was zero chance that the Bulldogs would not match. If they said “ no thanks, he’s yours” the Doggies would have kept a pick in the teens plus some other crappy picks.

Its the same story this year with Collingwood and the Bulldogs. If the kangas call Daicos and then Darcy Collingwood and the Bulldogs have no choice but to match even if they believe they are paying over the odds. Hence Beveridges pathetic sook to the media.

Last year the Bulldogs couldn’t get Thilthorpe even if they thought he was the best player. It is also way too early to make a judgement on JUH.

Was told that Jeremy Finlayson from GWS is likely to seek a trade at the end of the year. 25 year old forward, 196cms, could be worth a punt. See if Elliot Himmelberg wants to go to GWS to play with his brother?

No dickheads policy would need to be waived.

The thing is, we absolutely LOVE Ben Davis

I'd wager that he is the most admired character at the club

Everything about him other than his football is absolutely first class. We'd value him as a great example to our young players and someone who's value far exceeds on-field output.

I'm not convinced he can't play. In the Geelong debut he had 4 effective disposals from 68% TOG. Hardly any different to Betts, Murphy and Tex who all had 6 from 82%, 80% and 86% respectively. Last year v Swans he had 3, same as Walker, Murphy had 6 and Stengle 7. He's not been much worse than the other guys up forward and he's never had the benefit of contuinuity and knowing he's getting a block of games to find his feet.

Did Rory Sloane steal your paper from your lawn?

Seriously dude, get over yourself. We get it, you hate him.
This is nothing to do with Rory. The Bored Member from Pt Macdonnell likes to jerk off by trashing our club champions. Prior to the start of the season it was Tex (good call?) then there was the 8 year Jihad on Scott Thompson, Rory is about the only one left (except for Mackay and it would be hard to find a single poster that isn’t on that train).

Because the answer to the question "what happens if we take Rory Sloane out of the middle and we perform better" scares the sh*t out of us for some reason.

He's ramping up his TOG at the moment too. Had averaged 80% first 10 games then upped it to 87% last week, a yearly high, and now 89% on Friday, a new high. Not sure he's going to come off at all next week.

I don’t get why some people who post on this forum actually support the club. I’ve yet to read a positive post from some people. From Jimmy Rowe to Rory Sloane. Negative, negative, negative

I get Friday night was annoying and we played horrible, but it just seems too hard to post something positive.

why do they even support this club?

you do know, he doesn’t make those decisions?

You are actually bagging Matthew Nicks and the midfield coach.

kelly is a free agent. We'd get the lowest tier, end of 3rd I think it stops at.

Some of the doom and gloom posters are Trolls (including one moderator) whereas others are just bat shit crazy. Check out who posts frequently after we have a poor performance but go missing when we have a great win.

I am pretty sure Troll-lite is in the latter group, he sure enjoys howling at the moon 🙄.

On that note, I’m off now. Unsure when I will be back.

Far too many dooms dayers and negative nellies. Go crows and go Rory.

Look, you should stick around. You just have to mute/block certain posters.

It's the issue for this board - it's just a VERY small cross section of the supporter community, but somehow it's not that representative of different points of view. It's the same stuff over and over again. Some threads aren't really worth visiting.

Personally, I just want some reasonable and even tempered discussion. I don't want people doing rants or constantly shitting on the club.

I just want some discussion about where we thought we'd be, where we are and where we're trying to go.

Do you really want to continue this? Yes, the rocket scientists that look after the AFL websites CBFed changing it.

Either we are the only team allowed 46 players on our list or they have been delisted. Given the fact that Stengle was hoping to be picked up in the mid-season draft, he could have been the first AFL player to be on the list for two clubs?
Stengle is completely gone, though (as you pointed out), Telstra have been too ****ing lazy to remove him from the website. Gibbs remains on the rookie list, albeit on our "inactive list", due to salary cap reasons.

Also on the list are their replacements, Parnell & Murray, which should also be reflected in any list mathematics involving delisting Stengle/Gibbs.

Stengle because of the payout required for Salary Cap

Why pick on Laird who's actually performing up to the standard required? Sloane is currently the obvious weakest link out of the 3 primary mids.

Which standard is this? Padding your stats with meaningless one-two handballs? Or the sky high dump kicks that come back with interest?

Sloane is coming back from a serious eye injury and is playing with another injury on top of that. Keays is playing with one functional wrist. The fully fit Laird isn't standing head and shoulders above them.

Rubbish, Laird is getting his hands on the ball in contested situations as stoppage mids are meant to do. And you’ve only listed a bunch of excuses for Sloane. He’s 9 games back from his eye injury and it’s him (or his brother) that’s chosen to play with the finger injury. You guys and your man crushes on Sloane are hilarious. He’s a total passenger at the moment. We can argue the value of Laird’s ball winning ability, but at least he wins it and isn’t being carried by his teammates.
