The club is going to have pay up to these players but I'm not sure what Caro means when she says the club deserves punishment?
A fine on-top of paying theses players out? It shouldn't be draft picks but does she want premiership points? What about the AFL and the AFLPA they also all left this fall by the way side they are also responsible for not doing enough for these players effected. How can they penalise us when they investigated and found nothing when we obviously know that bad stuff happend? They probably need some self reflection too.

God I would like one season where a massive scandal doesn't hit our football club it's been a disastrous decade.

Maybe some accountability for Pyke's complete lack of plan B when Richmond exposed us wouldn't have gone astray instead of taking the easy route of blaming the players. As Eddie said, they weren't even mentally weak as evident by sticking through the experience of Walsh's death.

Pyke should have had his turn in the "harness" and the players couldn't torn him a new one for his shit selections and gameplan.

Every thing from the club pointed at the players with zero accountability for our morons in the coaches box.

Had one semi-nice thought today

As crappy as this whole experience was and continues to be, I feel that the club is in better hands now. In terms of the non-football stuff anyway.

Nicks - good coach or not - seems a decent person. Van Berlo is a stand up individual, Burns the same. Honourable people. Daniel Jackson is a quality individual.

Silvers > Fagan

Kelly > Burton

Olsen > Chapman

I think this is what you need to try and keep focus on. I am so sorry for you all that this is being dredged up and the revelations/impact is being laid bare.

I think your club has come a significant way in rebuilding “off field”, you have some quality people there in the key areas and you only have to see that the continual re-signing of your young players etc. seems like the culture is strong and you are in a better place.

Much like we (WCE) had to rebuild after the tumult of the mid 2000’s. Unfortunately, like WCE, as supporters/members, there is no capacity to push for significant change at board level, at least not until the ownership structure changes.

There is one thing that can help you move forward in the meantime, and that is Roo stepping up, taking responsibility and standing down. If he loves the club as much as he says he does, then he should see that to truly move forward, he needs to step aside. Ideally those on the board at the time that remain should go too 👍

Garry McIntosh would probably think you're a campaigner.
Another weak-minded SJW no doubt. We were pathetic in the 2017 GF, and plenty on here wanted a response - i.e. some toughness. The way the club went about was not great, but I'd rather they try something than not. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

We have to do something.
This is something.
We have to do it.

How feeble minded are you mate?

How could anyone have predicted that Brett Burton would be an absolute lemon?

Hindsight heroes, the lot of you!

Pfft that's just the logic of a tree hugging lefty, soyboy, beta cuck. There was simply no way to know that handing our players over to a bunch of charlatans and psychologically traumatising them would yield negative results.

Agreed.

i also would rather this happened now, and REALLY happens. Everyone involved needs some resolution.

And complicit in all this is the AFL as they control the board.

This whole mess is on them and they need to hand the club over to the fans.

We didn’t have the ability to hold the board accountable and overthrow them if there was enough support.

Instead we got told if we didn’t like it to support another club.

How many more years have we got to wait until we can vote these idiots out?

I completely disagree with your perspective - but MANY on here were saying exactly that after the Grand Final. I'm curious how they feel now.

Caro pushing hard on this calling for punishments to the club, cover up by Adelaide, failure to act by AFL, failure by Adelaide’s leaders and coaches….it’s really harsh.

Thankfully Leigh Matthews is putting the heat back on the coach and head of footy….and the fact that the people responsible are no longer then. Actually named Brett Burton and Don Pyke and saying they’ve been missed in this as everyone else cops it.

According to Caro the players need the Club to punished.

I

I think if Collective Minds went rogue and delivered a camp outside the jurisdiction that they were intended to deliver they could be found liable to the club. Surely no same individual at the club would have signed off on what went on at the camp. I like to think that Collective Minds did stuff the club had no idea they were going to do. If that's the case it puts the club in a slightly better light but regardless of that the club should never have been involved with this crazy operation.
Thought I read somewhere 4 years ago that CM subcontracted the camp out?
What we need certainty of is what the club knew of the contents snd methods to be employed were.
The old utter bullshit that breaking someone down to get better performance was debunked long before this bloody camp.

It still gets used in some areas

Chief Wiggum: Okay, I assume you all know why you're here. [ducks as chair thrown at him] That's right, you're all angry, sick people. But, over these next eight hours, you will be broken down to the level of infants, then rebuilt as functional members of society, then broken down again, then lunch, then, if there's time, rebuilt once more.
