Not really, no. I don't rate their logo very highly.

But it has been modernised a number of times ... https://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/the-collingwood-logo/

Tell me what about you love about it? The bird?

I notice they use a simplified version of just the Magpie on merch:

Which looks ordinary too.

They've massaged it, but it remains true in terms of always looking like the bird it's meant to portray, not an assembly of shapes.

I'm not artistic.
I guessed that. As you seem to have no understanding of how difficult what you are asking for is.

You cannot create a good scalable logo that also is a photo realistic version of an animal / bird.

And yes, most good logos are generally a mixture of basic shapes.

I'm not a logo designer mate, you seem to think that we have a magic wand or something that just plucks these concepts from the ether at will!!

If you all you've got is "Do the Collingwood logo but with a flying crow" - I'm probably not interested in diving too deep.

...but what I will do is put something together on excel that won't be far off the club version posted here.

Worth noting that actually looks like the animal it represents doesn’t make your list. My view is that if you took the animal drawing away from the context, first and foremost, most people should recognise what the animal is.

Problem is that crows would have to be one of the more generic looking birds in real life.

And you can’t go too detailed with a logo

No worries ... maybe we have different ideas on what a logo should be?

Character is a strange demand for a logo in my opinion.

All good.
This is very clear, from reading this thread. People want different things.

Some people want a picture of a crow that they think looks like a crow.

Some people want the bird to look aggressive or hard arsed.

Some people care a lot about the colours.

Some people want something simple and resembling a good corporate logo.

Some people want something artistic and detailed, others want simplicity.

Had a go at tweaking the art from the recent indigenous guernsey.

The top one would look great on a hoodie

I thought the logo that bald and broke posted was liked by the majority of people.
On the main board it got a lot of likes from other supporters too.

Maybe you have a different idea of what the logo is supposed to do here?

Do you think it's supposed to be instructive in some way?

My opinion of a good logo is one that is clear, scales well, is identifiable amongst its peers ... and looks good on merch.
I completely agree.

A logo needs to work well in a logo grid, be instantly identifiable, scale well, work both in color and in mono. The brand mark is trying to be striking but simple, something unique.

I think the versions of the logo with our tricolour on the wings have been quite successful. I haven't seen a front on that I think works, but it's not impossible.

I really don't like the raptor and don't like what was leaked as the new logo.

Any guesses on when it will be realeased? I was thinking soon but maybe not next year closer to warm up games

New logos usually launch late october, early November.

Always going to be used to kick off next season, rather than end this one.

I'd guess we'll see it as soon as the players are back to promote the launch, will be on the new training gear.

If I would hazard a guess yeah it would be around that time given previous teams releases but it doesn’t stop me from suspecting they might’ve thought about doing it at the Club Champion awards last night until the vitriol came out at that leaked version.

Yes did think the same, rather it take a year longer if it means it’s crisp haha.
Maybe Draper can promote it once he’s drafted 😎
