Opinion Adelaide Crows New Logo Discussion

Ok gang, I finally have permissions to attach files - here's the latest versions of the design that I have been working on:

Version 1 - where the wing colours are separated and probably look better from a design perspective.
Version 2 - with the wing colours following the guernsey order.

I used 'Adelaide Football Club' because the crow is pretty obvious and unique in Australian sports, and tried to make it so that the logo would work against the solid club colours.

I'm just a guy with Illustrator, so keep that in mind, but I'm keen to get your thoughts!

I must be the only one here that doesn’t like this logo. Still better than the raptor head though..

Just reckon this is a great concept. I assume we won't adopt it officially, but congrats on capturing an essence that would resonate with a lot of Crows fans.

Thanks mate, much appreciated. I agree - I think the horse has bolted regarding official designs. I did email the club, but I don't really have any direct connections, so it's probably just sitting in the work experience kid's junk email folder

I’d be interested to see number 2 with just “Adelaide” .

More clean up ... my son had a few minutes to run it through InkScape and straighten up my wonky lines a touch, and:

• Correct colours as per SA state guernsey (Blue - Pantone 295, Red - Pantone 199, Gold - Pantone 137)
• Correct colour order for the feathers (as per our jumper)
• Cleaned up beak

I understand the eye, but why is the beak coloured? Actually, I don't understand the coloured eye either.

Not a fan of those ones, too intricate.

Wings out as a starting point is so much better than the other crap. The design has improved, but it's still crud. Need something more intricate that looks like an actual bird.

Is there anyone who can logo-ify the front on design. It needs nice clean edges but how do you do that while keeping the feathers?

edit: added a shield. Not a fan of shields but it does look a bit more like an actual logo now.

Does a front on crow with wings out have clean edges? Why must it have clean edges, perhaps a crow isn't for us if we don't like the image of the bird itself.

Character is a strange demand for a logo in my opinion.
