I reckon Keath will be Greenwood-esque and really add to our team in the lead up to finals.

Reckon Kelly will do an awesome job on Danger as well (assuming he is the match up).

Unfortunately I have zero confidence the coaching box will change anything and it will be Ground Hog Day.

Massive game, plenty of footy left in the season but a win tonight makes a top 2 finish almost a certainty.

Please please Pyke put someone on Selwood and don't let them have 3 spare in defense.

It really isn't that hard.

I hardly ever dream about footy, but I had a dream last night that we beat Geelong by 56 points.
Finger crossed you are right! I've only dreamt about the crows winning twice, both times half way through the season, that we were going to win a premiership...and we did. My family laughed at me when I told them we were going to win, just wish I had wagered with them!

Funny you should mention that, I dreamt last night I was having a beer with Tex haha

Something wrong with you guys....I dreamt I was with a lovely little....ehh nevermind this is a family thread. :)

I changed my avatar after the last Geelong game

Hoping for a new one after tonight :)

Really hope we win this. I ended up having a big argument with my annoying rugby loving husband, as the crows and super rugby first final are on at the same time and i refuse to watch it on my ipad. I have made him go to the pub to watch his stupid game as this is more important haha!
Fingers crossed we get over the line

I still think Sloane might be a late withdrawal. I got the Lever will not play correct.
All my hoodoos were broken last week in Darwin. I got to see the Crows ***win *** a match.
So many trial matches, pre season games, one v the Indigenous All stars, so many losses at AAMI including a 20+ goal thrashing by this Geelong mob and then I go to Adelaide oval for R23 last year. Good grief.
Yep we ( I really mean me) are on a winning streak people.
We are led to believe all the "learnings" Knight to Selwood. ?
Crows by 22 :)

While past results can be used as a predictor for future results I think this one is falls in our favour. The last time we played Geelong I think we were in a rut that wins against Brisbane and Fremantle hid. It wasn't until we played a hard physical team like Geelong that we were really exposed at the contest. They were willing to smash into us, they swamped the contest often out numbering us and I'm still convinced we were trying to be Dangerfield friend on the night. Now I know we can beat Geelong. We beat them in the JLT series by running those fat slow .........s off their feet. Adelaide oval is 4 metres wider on each boundary than Simonds which also plays into our advantage because it will be just that bit harder to defend for Geelong who relied on their big bodies swamping every contest. That's why when they are away from Simonds they are far easier to score against.

What I would like to see against Dangerfield when he floats forward is for a tall defender to go back to him in the same manner Hartigan went to Gray in the first Showdown. Keath could be the best match up since he is tall, strong and fast, we don't need to body him, just force him to compete aerially. This could allow Kelly and Otten to play that 3rd man up defender like Lever and look to spoil those long kicks into the forward line.

I'm quietly confident that we will play a bit differently this time around. I hope Geelong smashes into us at the first bounce, it will be harder for them to maintain for the whole match especially if we use the width a bit more and switch the ball around to both flanks and not try and force it down the corridor and try and bomb it long over the top. Last time they often had 3 on 1 against Betts with long kicks going into our forward lines. Last time I checked there is only 18 men on the field for either side, meaning we must of had 2 other players free. We must look for the lead up and the free players instead of looking for the quick play over the top which is where Geelong have predicted that game style so well and we refused to change. The other option is that instead of letting them keep the spare goal keeper behind the play, force our forward line players to take them back to the square and match them at the very least one on one for the entire day. They have caught us on the quick turn over so many times with the two man spare in defence.

I predict the Crows by 4 goals

Can Dmac back it up? my fingers are crossed for him... bite them ankles moz!

if Danger's so called injury limits his lateral movement...
Brad Crouch it's time to put on a clinic.

I reckon Galluci or Seedsman will be a late in for Sloane.

Go Crows!

What I want:

I win (duh)
Sloane to get off the chain (if he plays)
Brouch to be among the coach's votes
Mrouch to have 30+ disposals (with 13+ kicks)
Smithers to have 10+ kicks (kicked 12 in both Bulldogs and Melb wins)
Laird to have 6+ rebound 50s
To have the lead at quarter time
CC to have 18+ disposals (had 20 last week - his 2nd best ever)
5 players to have 5+ tackles
Sauce to hit out to advantage
For there to be some sense that we have a counter to their "put 2 extra in defence" strategy
EDIT:
McGovern to show everyone why he deserves a big pay cheque

Hoping for a win. Cant believe how sqewed the odds are in our favour.

In all likeliness this place could be in full meltdown mode after about 9.30pm

Expecting Tex to play with fire in his eyes. Remember him saying “Next time we play (Geelong), I am confident you will see the difference.”. This could also refer to some type of structural change we've been hiding for just this game.

Also really want Sloane to have a BOG game, it's about time.

I'm not sure why because we've been burnt so many times but have a feeling were going to make a big statement tonight. I also don't expect Danger to play if he does it means he trained today and that's it thats not enough training.

He is playing...if he doesn't then I will expect McGrath to explain how soft he is ;)
