Be bold, take risks. We know what Geelong will do to cramp our ball movement. Take the game on and make them change their plans.

We get a run on and move the ball with different angles and cut them up with our footskills. Do that and we will win easy.

you can say its just the standard line you trot out but I wasn't too thrilled hearing Betts on 360 say that we just need to back our system because its been producing good footy recently and we just have to make sure we play our own way.

if we ignore what Geelong has thrown up in the last three encounters we're going to repeat those outcomes.

Looking forward to seeing if "The Recipe" for defeating the Crows works again. If it does, my estimations on Pyke and Co. will drop. I hate being beaten by what we know.

Multiple spares in the back half, always stay goal side of the forwards - never let them get behind you, tag Sloane, stop the run off the backline by putting defensive players on Smith and Lynch.

If we don't see that coming, and have plans to deal with it ... then it's a really bad sign.

We should also know that they know we know (if you know what I mean). We have to expect another strategy to deal with our solution, if we can force them to change to a new strat - that is a win - and we need to exploit it.

Love all the optimism in this thread!

Unfortunately I don't share it. I think Geelong will win by around 12 points. Reasons being, I think Dangerfield will play and Sloane won't. This would surely point Geelong's attention to the Crouch brothers, and I'm not sure they cab handle that sort of pressure. I'm also nervous about no Lever. We need his intercept and rebound from back half of the ground.

Hopefully I'm wrong and it's Crows by 30+ :)

Also their mids!
I noticed last time we played, in congestion they pushed the ball either sideways or forward/over the top. Our wings & mids would over commit to the contest and leave players on the outside who would then run onto it.
It's why Danger & Sellwood are so important to them, cause they do the inside grunt work, then throw it into space for their other mids to receive and run.

We beat them in the JLT series by running those fat slow .........s off their feet.

Yeah I wouldn't read into JLT form.

Across the teams the changes are:

ADELAIDE
In: B. Crouch, Jenkins, Sloane, Betts, McGovern, Keath
Out: Gallucci, Wigg, Hampton, Milera, Poholke, Menzel, Gore, Dear, O'Brien, Hartigan

GEELONG
In: Kolodjashnij, S. Selwood, Guthrie, Parsons, Bews
Out: Parfitt, Cockatoo, McCarthy, Lang, Cowan, Horlin-Smith, Ruggles, Thurlow, Black

We won by six points with Dangerfield having 42% TOG and Menzel 29%.

The teams are so different and those games were so long ago they don't matter

Unfortunately I have zero confidence the coaching box will change anything and it will be Ground Hog Day.

Massive game, plenty of footy left in the season but a win tonight makes a top 2 finish almost a certainty.

Please please Pyke put someone on Selwood and don't let them have 3 spare in defense.

It really isn't that hard.

Well Bill did get his girl in the end.
Maybe we've learnt through trial and error and it might just happen.

Crows by 2 or 42

I think Sloane will play, Dangerfield a late out. Crows by 7.

Keath to make a solid debut, with tonight's commentary full of cricket puns whenever he gets a touch.

Commentary?
They will not even know who Keath is.
Any Geelong game is swamped by Dangerfield love dribble.

This Bogey team tag Cats have for is is grossly overrated. 4 of the last 5 times we have played them has been in Geelong where they have a 95% win rate and we have won 3 times in our history.

Crows by 18

The bookmakers have been all over the radio and TV this week saying 'Cats have great odds considering they have won the last 5 games against Adelaide'. They are deliberately leaving out this fact that 4/5 games have been In Geelong where they never lose, they know what they are doing and it's very sneaky. They'll be sucking in lots of people.
