In good company alongside Damien Hardwick's debut year at Richmond. Hardwick broke his duck at the 10th attempt.

Aside from Matthew Nicks, Adelaide's coaching panel has ZERO assistant coaches who have played AFL, but never for the Crows

Every assistant coach is either an ex-Adelaide player (Clarke, Hart, Reilly, Wright) or has never played at AFL level (Godden, Younie).

Five of these six assistants have NEVER coached at an AFL club other than Adelaide

#1 issue at the club

I would probably say our List is the major concern or the number 1 issue as you say

However you believe its the off field staff which are making us the spooners

Nope, it’s called finally securing pick one and being one step closer to this sh*t storm of a season finishing. There is not much point is the club trying to win a few games and lose pick one. I absolutely want to win one or two, but what’s the point of winning enough to finish 16th or 17th?
Is it accepted and understood at board level and fan level that club is rebuilding mode?

That's a product of being insular. I doubt Ruccuito would want "outsiders" coming in and questioning set up

Who has Frampton been diddling? can't get a game in that side far out.. never be a star but you'd pump games into him surely in this position & see if the glimpses he shows can turn into a more solid output.. 3 year deal hmm
He should be playing over Himmelberg or Strachan, started to show a bit and then was dropped and hasn’t even made the emergency list since.

He was far from the worst in the games I saw him play as well.

Hes a pasionate fellow.

He probably gave someone a spray when he got dropped.

In fairness he was unlucky to get dropped and that kind if passion seems to be exactly what they need.

Its actually even more insular than you thought. Michael Godden was drafted by the Crows in 1992 but never played a game.

Thats nuts. Speaks of the insecurity of certain individuals. Too scared to get a new mind in because the new mind will expose how ignorant they all are

Their biggest problems are far, far greater than the coaches. How's this attempt at media spin a few weeks ago?

List manager Justin Reid suggested in an interview with the Adelaide Advertiser that the club was halfway through a rebuild...

Talk about being totally dishonest with members. The AFC have actually tried to claim that they started rebuilding after their GF loss :drunk: and as I mentioned earlier in the thread, a lot of Crows supporters are agreeing and justifying the comments.

Sure, they drafted in a fair amount of players in the past couple of seasons, but it is absolute folly to suggest they did so aggressively as you would in a rebuild. They totally missed the boat in what could be one of the strongest SA top ends to a draft ever, continue to play older, mid level plodders even to this day and essentially sold the farm for Gibbs (epic fail) and made strong overtures to do the same with Grundy. These are not the actions of a club in rebuild. To attempt to retro-actively claim they have been rebuilding for 2 years is outrightly insulting and only blatant lies that a fool could accept.

Their biggest issues IMO are the total management failures that go all the way to the board, who not only are not accountable to their members but continue to attempt the same cover up, media spin garbage that's been a huge element in where they find themselves as a club to this day. Scarily, if the board and management actually believe they are half way through a rebuild, they are so delusional I don't even think I have any words for it. Even some supporters still don't recognise this and continue their support of the status quo. It's madness.

Well even Freo had to look out side the club to get certain staff.

Yes Justin Longmuir is a former dockers player but he got coaching and staff experience at West coast and Collingwood.

Josh Carr is another former docker player but he was coaching north Adelaide in the SANFL and might of had a staff role at port power at one point after his playing days are done.

Anthony Rock and David Hale are former Hawks players too.

Ok, so without taking away from the fact that the club is struggling and doing a lot of things wrong, can I just say that Kane Cornes waffling on about the drink bottle demonstration just seems to be a petty dig.
Yes clubs use Ipads and tablets to show the game plans, and im sure the Afc does too, but the clubs also use boards with magnets, they use whiteboards, they stand and point. whats the problem with using water bottles on a replica footy field to quickly illustrate a point when you've got all the boys gathered around? Seems perfectly reasonable. If there had been vision of every single player in that circle looking at a tablet, then Kane probably would have had a dig about Adelaide having a communication problem.

Yep, would have to agree with this. Adelaide have plenty of things that we can easily and justifiably give them a kicking about, don't really see this as one of them. As you said, it's a pretty petty dig.

Joey Montagna summed it up well last night that these kind of things would happen all the time, at every footy club in that manner. There is also the added element of COVID restrictions being in place and the team as a whole not being able to be together much if at all, which is normally when these kinds of things would go down - behind closed doors and not at half time. I suppose it makes Nicks look a bit 'amatuer hour' because it's something a country footy coach would do with the bottles, but we are in pretty strange times and one has to accept that some people/players understand learnings better in different ways.

You've got players like Harry Taylor who could probably dissect and understand a teams game plan from a document or dossier and that's how he learns best. Someone like Mitch Robinson would most likely prefer a visual/physical way of learning. Everyone is different and maybe Adelaide have a lot of visual learners and being told or seeing it written down obviously wasn't getting through to them?? Bit of a storm in a teacup.

Nah

Most supporters are happy to re load

Its the AFL, the system in place encourages a turnover of teams as we are seeing at the moment, or the competition wouldnt survive
Exactly. Although some do it better than others.I have no doubt that The Crows will be back in a big way. They will pass my boys in 2 or 3 years.
