And that's why we made the right call to move on Sando while the Dogs have stayed with McCartney and an unhappy environment....
Cooney rumoured to leave as well..
Griffen going to join his mate Callan Ward..

but but but what would the internet forums think!

Bullies had to get into the very top section of the draft to get their fill of talls. This might just be how they decided to do it.

The Western Bulldogs position is that Ryan is a contracted player and he will be required to fulfil his contract in 2015.

Yeah, this isn't the Bulldogs call, getting rid of "dead wood". There must be serious problems there if the Captain is quitting the club.

He's walking out, they aren't trying to trade him out..
"He feels at this point of his career he needs a change to a club that is outside of Melbourne"
Haven't you heard the mess that has been down at the Dogs?
McCartney staying was a disastrous decision..

We would have had the same situation if we stayed with Sando, I've said before I know of players that were happy to go to the enemy across the road if it meant getting out..

I'm sick of teams bending over backwards for the hawks come trade week. Last year they needed a ruckman and st kilda gift wrapped big boy for them.

The guy was barely getting a game at GWS. He hasnt shown nearly the potential he showed pre-draft.
He is not worth pick 4 any more...I dont know why thats so hard to understand.

This is how Damian Barrett thinks Griffen will end up at the Giants:

Joel Patfull from Brisbane to GWS for pick 21

Kristian Jaksch and Mark Whiley & pick 19 to Carlton in exchange for pick 7

Ryan Griffen to GWS in exchange for pick 4 & 7

Griffen would be a great pickup although he is 28 he would be great in the midfield for 3-4 years we should try talking him into moving to Adelaide

He knows he's cooked?
Wont see a premiership at Bulldogs?
Will get 200k more a year at GWS?

Seems like a smart career decision to me...

And people have the nerve to say the AFC is in turmoil..... Seriously!!
WB should have relocated to Western Sydney anyway!

Common sense has prevailed...

The AFL has told Port Adelaide and Essendon that it will not permit Paddy Ryder to be released as a free agent.
Port Adelaide and Essendon had investigated and discussed a radical plan - similar to the Nick Dal Santo deal of last year - to get Ryder to the Power and provide better compensation for the Bombers.
The plan involved Ryder having his contract voided by mutual consent of club and player, making him a free agent. He would then have gone to Port as a free agent, with the Bombers receiving a free agent compensation draft pick - from the central pool, not Port - in return.
