Do Melbourne fans seriously think Simon Goodwin would prefer to have Jones and Watts in if it meant playing West Coast with Naitanui and Kennedy?
To be honest the one I was rapt about more than anyone was LeCras...the Frenchman always kills us.

It's irrelevant. Jack Watts will never be equal to Kennedy. Its laughable you're even suggesting Melbourne missing Watts is equal to Kennedy being out. Jones is good for Melbourne but he is not as good a player as Naitanui I think everyone can agree on that even though they play different positions

Kennedy plays and he probably kicks the 4 goals Petrie kicked. Melbourne still would've won.

Kennedy plays and McGovern plays back. McDonald doesn't kick 5.

Naitanui plays and Gawn doesn't get 19 hitouts to advantage.

Sliding doors stuff.

I'll take the 4pts you guys can have Troy Ugle out there for all I care :D

Hogan plays, Jones plays, Watts plays, Salem doesn't get injured, Viney doesn't go off for a quarter, yada yada yada...

Eagles fans using injuries as an excuse when we were missing Hogan, Watts, Jones and Brayshaw and had Salem and Garlett do hammies in the third and Viney playing with one arm. Was only close because of the 10 frees in a row. :rainbow:

I have learned tonight that the free kick statistic is irrelevant and has no bearing whatsoever upon a game of football.

Tomorrow morning I am going to write to Gillon and Champion Data to suggest that this statistic is no longer tracked by the AFL, as it is obsolete.

I would like to thank the posters in this thread that opened my eyes to this matter.
You sir, are wise.

Free kicks are on the same level of importance as the colour of the players footy boots. Sometimes interesting to notice but largely they play no role. In fact, in your communication to Gil, can you tell him football boots should also no longer be required in the game. And another one, tell him to make one universal uniform for all teams. There really should be no visual distinctions between teams because that's also pointless. Only if you have time, maybe suggest they change the shape of ball because the way it bounces has never had anything to do with outcomes in games and too, is highly, highly irrelevant.

A free kick in Perth awarded to the Eagles in front of goal multiple times that lead to multiple goals scores has nothing to do with the score the Eagles kick. The multiplication of 6 points by the number of free kicks infront of goal never actually gets put toward the score, the points simply don't count and this is why it's baffling that people bang on about the relevance of lop sided free kicks at Domain when the royal blue and yellow birds of prey are playing. Goals by free kicks aren't ever added to the score. That's why the umpires never bother paying them to the traveling team, it's just redundant.

Running tally on free kicks when WCE play at Domain vs all opposition so far in 2017...

WCE: 137

OPPO: 89

Running tally on free kicks when WCE play away vs all opposition so far in 2017

WCE: 99

OPPO: 105

The Eagles have lost the free kick count at home only once this season out of 7 home games. They lost it to the Western Bulldogs. The Eagles vs the Bulldogs in Perth, an umpires perfect storm.

Aww that's cute. Duds would be your guys getting beaten by a team with 18 healthy players. :rainbow:

Your team a buck of soft c...s
You want to talk about soft, let's start with the 22 blue and yellow girl scouts the West Coast Eagles fielded last night.

Your best player was Drew Petrie, a lumbering dinosaur that couldn't even get a game for North Melbourne Kangaroos.

I don't know who your full-back is but Tom ****ing McDonald kicked five goals on him. Tom's never played a full game forward in his entire life. Imagine if either one of Jesse Hogan or Jack Watts had played; they'd have kicked twenty on their own before the half-time siren.

Against 19 fit players, and with SIGNIFICANT help from the umpiring squad, the mighty Eagles still couldn't defend a three goal lead for 5 minutes.

That's not just soft, that's absolutely pathetic.

Your team is cooked.
