Biggest ever comeback in a grand final at 3/4 is 24 points in 1984. They’d want to be a bit closer I’d reckon.
Maybe, but it's all mental. They'll both be knackered at that stage with the heat, in this scenario.
The crowd starts "Coooollingwoood, Coooollingwoood", get a quick goal or two, and tired Lions could try and save it, which won't end well if 20 points up with 15 minutes to go...

It's hilarious how salty posters from non-particpant clubs who are bitter at either the end of their dynasty, or the existential realisation that their forecasted dynasty isn't going to happen, are managing to bring Brisbane and Pies posters together in this thread.

Have a feeling this will be a blow out win for the Pies.

And will be another boring one-sided GF.
I wish! But the fact that the Pies have lost Adams and McStay will make a blowout unlikely. Even with those two players, Collingwood hasn’t put many teams away by big margins this year.

I really can't see pies losing this, it just seems like it's going to be their flag from a long way out. Everyone has bought in to the mcrea way.
Lions are 1 from their last 15 at the MCG, and that was against Melbourne in a final last year where it felt like Melbourne threw it away. It will be about 85 thousand collingwood supporters out of 100, Brisbane are just going to be absolutely shell shocked.
The blues absolutely pantsed them with their pressure in the first quarter last week and the pies will be able to do that for a lot longer.
Apart from Lachie neale their midfield drops away very quickly.
I think $1.75 for pies is an absolute gift, and I'm going to have a good go at pies 40+ at $6

Unfortunately for the neutral supporter I think this will be a disappointing grand final.
Would be happy for Brisbane to prove me wrong and show some ticker

The cope, it burns.

FWIW, the runners up prize is $700k. 18th gets bugger all.

You also get the excitement of your team playing on the hallowed MCG on grand final day.*

*Terms and conditions apply: Offer void if your side plays in an asterisk Covid premiership in Perth.

Same asterisk that’s attached to this seasons brownlow I guess. 🤣 it’s a shame us non-participant club fans have to watch another one sided grand final. All finals should be played at the G to avoid this.

“We’re all winners” is the biggest crock of shit I’ve ever heard.

That's not really how grand final crowds work. Will be oppressive still but not like what GWS copped in the prelim.

Pies won’t win by 40+, rarely do they put away teams.
If they manage to get a jump of 5+ goals they tend to manage the rest of the game.
Frustrating as a fan but it’s the way they play

Jesus, quite the cursed monkey paw wish. The Dees would never play in a granny ever again. Putting together a serious MCG hoodoo that even makes the Brisbane Lions say "goddamn, that is one serious hoodoo".

as much as I'd love to have 85k of my comrades there - they ain't gonna happen. 17k x 2 for the Bears and us. The rest to unidentified plonkers who are probably going to their first game of the season. The 2010 GF was a real match - just Saints supporters and us. All the theatregoers had pissed off after Round 1.

Was awesome the rematch, unbelievable how enjoyable it was with the pressure off.
We needed an easy one

Have Victoria hiked the prices of airfares like Brisbane did the two weeks of the finals?

Yes, because that's absolutely how airline prices work. The premier of Victoria and the Lord Mayor of Brisbane both have a comically oversized The Price is Right style wheel that says "Airfares" on it and they just crank it at their whim.

Brisbane's airfares are actually controlled by the Pauls milk factory in South Brisbane.

Yes, of course you would...
Clubs don’t come back from losing grand finals, players drift apart, rifts start between players, coaches, staff, families etc. Mad Monday turns into mayhem, relationships are forced apart. Before you know it you have Player A vs Player B from Brisbane in the car park on mad Monday. Saturday is the grand final, there’s no tomorrow. Melbourne chose to go straight sets to give the rest of the comp a chance at the top, now there’s this fiasco. I’m predicting a 3 peat starting next year for the red and blue. But we’ll leave that for another thread.

Go the umpires.

Yeah Hawthorn absolutely ruined that Geelong team forever back in 2008. They were never the same.

Geelong are a whole different outfit to what these two teams are. Can’t disagree with that

So immediately you are trying to qualify exceptions to your rule. This is compelling stuff.

I also thought Hawthorn were a potential dynasty team before Sydney shattered them in 2012...

Fitzey: "Hawthorn are a whole different outfit to what these two teams are. Can’t disagree with that."
