Imagine if the GF was guaranteed to be played at Perth Stadium and an away game against Freo or WC wasn't played there. Freo don't get many games at the G (only 2 this year) and being familiar with the ground, surface conditions, it's dimensions and such is a slight advantage. Freo, like every other team, also have a fair few Victorians on our list that would probably enjoy a trip home more than Alice Springs.

The grandfinal is at the G so I’d like freo to play 3x a year there I think we play once in 2024.

There’s over a thousand freo vic game members.

Of all the non vic teams that could have been fixtured for Alice it ends up being the only one that’s beaten Dees the last two seasons at the G.

They always sound a lot louder than the Melbourne fans tbh but it could be that the echo is more pronounced when 80% of the ground is empty.

I flew over for last year's game and was surprised to see so many there. The Melbourne supporters were surprisingly quiet. I would fly to Melbourne for the long weekend (Foundation this weekend in WA) to go shopping and to see friends, as well as football, but wouldn't fly to Alice Springs. I'm not sure about others.
