Just went thru a few of them on Fox Footy again, that chop the arms non call and the rushed behind in particular were horrendous, then 2 HTB decisions within 30 seconds not called that were stone cold drops

Hmmm. Not sure. I recall what the commentators were saying as being the interpretation a few years back but may have changed. However agree with you that a lot of the time the commentators don’t know the rules.
The best example I see called all the time incorrectly is if the centre bounce goes outside the centre circle it must be recalled - Not the rule.
Yeah, it’s either “or”.

Only has to meet one of the criteria - ie from outside the 9m is always a free, but from inside still might be.

Happy to hear arguments as to whether it was sufficient pressure or not - but Darce (how tf was he on the rules committee??) stating it was categorically wrong due to it being inside 9m is embarrassing.

And yes, the centre circle is a “guide” only for ruck contests :)

I don't love essendon but there has honestly been a dozen really poor decisions go against them this quarter

Its pretty incredible.

Not as bad as the Adelaide/Fitzroy game back in '91.

Tell your Geelong mates that. They are sitting here coming up with every excuse under the sun for why it doesn’t count - including playing away from home as a home game, and a historic free kick differential.

Regardless of that shit, Essendon had Geelong players cold about 5 times that quarter, 3-4 of which were HTB before the new interpretation anyway, but all were easily there with the “new” interpretation that lead to the AFL bragging about how much better it made the game.

That sounds like an umpire and Essendon problem to me.

When you play a “home” game away, you should get kissed on the old fella
Didn't know that rule. Only issue I have is that Essendon's home ground is Marvel so playing on a neutral ground. Might be on to something though, a good way to limit travel for WA teams. Have teams play their home games in Perth so they can get an armchair ride from umpires.

Richmond,the last 8 years.

We are miles below the 17th team in frees ffs.

Every bloody week.

Expecting another rort tomrrow.

Always wear a men's nappy to games now to protect me from the reaming.

Agree, Richmond are the true victims of tonight’s match

Dangerfield non-suspension aside, anyone who thinks Walsh “flopped” has never played any degree of competitive footy and has most likely been at the bottom of the pool intelligence wise their entire life.

Amazing to think he did it deliberately, rather than was tackled forwards with his arms pinned while he ran at pace.
Thanks Malcom Blight

It makes me sick to see Dangerfield out there tonight. He should have been suspended after his disgusting tackle on Walsh last week.
He really shouldn't have been, and wasn't.
Dry your eyes.

Yeah, I want Essendon to lose so we hold on to third place, but the umpiring in the third quarter was borderline corrupt.
Completely swung the momentum Geelong's way. Is it coincidence that multiple poor decisions go one way?
Anyway, go Cats!!! 😁😁😁
