There's no point with this sort of stuff.

Richmond were immense most of the night. Geelong needed the points and clawed it back after a shocking start.

Happy with the effort again and some continued growth from the kids. We were competitive for 3 quarters which was good to see.

Geelong were always going to come back and win that IMO particularly after what I expect would have been an enormous rocket from Scott at half time.

After losing a few in a row Geelong got us at a really good time. You probably beat us regardless but at the moment its a near certainty. You definetely needed that but it could be a win that papers over some cracks against a lowly side.

Realistically without a lot of crucial players we were always going to struggle tonight given both sides 2024 states.

We just need to be competitive and stay in games and keep developing players, and maintain that top 2 pick. We'll see the fruits into next year when we hopefully don't have a bunch of key players missing week after week.

30 point loss but Richmond never gave up. Tigers are 17th on the ladder, with massive injury list & it took Geelong (on thier home ground at GMHBA Stadium) to put us away midway through the 4th qtr. There's good signs for Richmond. We are on the right track. Rebuild well and truly on and that's fine. All we want is effort - we got that.

Something to build on going forward.

Pressure makes diamonds.

Injuries can be a blessing in disguise for a rebuilding list. 👍

A lot to take away from that for Richmond. Lefau will be one to watch and Balta was solid all night. I really think Yze will be good for them and after the game against Sydney and now tonight I do think we’ll start seeing the fruits of his labour going forward. The playing group are certainly starting to put the pieces together!

Richmond's dynasty/successful period was always going to come to an end. No dynasty lasts forever. We are rebuilding and the massive injury list has probably accelerated the rebuild quicker as in blooding youth/playing the kids.

I'll be honest with you, at the start of the season I had no expectations at all. I thought we would finish near the bottom. The list will be turned over and I'm looking forward to the draft (plus the next few in future years). It's rebuild time and that's totally fine, I accept that. That's probably how the AFL system is meant to work - teams at the top must eventually go down. Teams on the down will eventually be at the top.

As long as Richmond try and put in effort in games, which we have seen most weeks, then I'm happy. All part of the learning experience for the kids going forward.

Sometimes you've just got to grit your teeth and grind out an ugly win against a scrappy opponent.

I don't think too many people will hold this up as any sort of brilliant Geelong performance, but a win's a win.
Your mob got it done. They were pushed but credit to the Cats. Ran home strongly.

I’m the same, seeing the kids develop is enjoying and stress free for me.

Yeah that’s how AFL it works, we haven’t even drafted our next best player yet. Hopefully it’s pick 2 this year. 🤞

Good effort by Richmond relying on a 185 cm kpp player who has played no more than 10 games. They were impressive with their attitude just don't have the cattle at the moment, but some kids have made big steps lately. Geelong played too safe until the second half and great games by Bowes Holmes Bruhn through the middle to give us some dash through the corridors after half time.

Geelong fans over the moon that a player on their list under 30 finally did something.

The albino got a couple of cheapies out the back. How very exicting for your club.
Carlton's best year in how many years.

Still lost to Geelong and sit below Geelong on the ladder.

Can't make that shit up lol.

Nice to get that winning feeling again, a dominant second half, but certainly can't get carried away. To be down (again) by 5ish goals at home against such a depleted Richmond side and to be absolutely slaughtered early on in the clearances and the pressure metrics was simply not good enough. Credit to Richmond, they were just much better than the Cats for a sizable chunk of the game with their work in the contest and their pressure on the ball.

If we're getting badly beaten for a half by Samson Ryan, Mykelti Lefau and the makeshift Richmond midfield, then we'll be copping a few hammerings over the next month and a half. On the other hand, if we can return to form and win our share of games over the next six weeks, we'll be right in the hunt for top four at the business end. I'm looking forward to seeing what we're made of.
