The 9 meter line means they can rush it if they are under pressure. Not that an opposition player being within that 9 metre line constitutes pressure.

Still shouldn’t be a free because Dempsey gave up on the play and instead started appealing to the umpire where otherwise he’d be pressuring the player.

The rule is playing on after 2nd whistle. Ball was kicked before 2nd whistle.

Razor Ray clarified that rule on radio earlier in the year.

It’s shit but that absolutely is the interpretation.

If you have an arm free they will pay the free kick. Whether it’s possible for you to dispose or not.

If he literally lets go of the ball they’ll pay play on.

It’s why when people say they like the new interpretation I disagree. It’s also an indictment on the intelligence of daisy Thomas who clearly hasn’t watched any footy for 6 weeks

Ridleys htb that led to a goal was a shocker too, they've been blowing the whistle a lot faster for those this year.
