Voted by the players at each club to nominate. What are views on how Geelong players voted for its nominations?

Seems about right? Atkins tick. Ollie tick (and good effort given speculative pick. Wouldn’t just be about on field so players recognise).

Is there another player to squeeze Hawke out of mvp? Not saying he doesn’t deserve it but

Guthrie Snr based on this season would be the unlucky one

Curnow and Lynch might take the two key forward spots. Would be harsh for Hawkins and Cameron to miss out but 4 really good key forwards fighting for AA spots. Curnow has won the Coleman but I’d have him as the 4th ranked player for the season.

I'd have him third best among KPF.

1. Hawkins
2. Cameron
3. Curnow
4. Lynch

Cameron is an absolute lock for one of the tall forward roles, Lynch and Curnow are fighting it out for the other position.

As much as I love Hawk, he has been hugely consistent rather than dominant (barring that Brisbane game that he basically won all by himself). Lynch has absolutely ripped the league to pieces in the last month and will probably be picked at FF.

They'll go at least three key forwards I think. Hawkins with 59 goals and a ridiculous 26 direct goal assists should be in if they're fair dinkum. For comparison the other keys in contention are Cameron (17), Curnow (12), Lynch (6). You could mount a strong case if you're picking just one of that lot Hawkins is the pick of the bunch - they're all within a bee's dick in pure goals, but what Hawkins does by bringing his teammates into the game separates him, not to mention his F50 ruck craft.

That's also true.

I hope they don't go with three pure key forwards, though - that's just unrealistic. No team has played successfully like that since Brisbane twenty years ago (Lynch, Brown, Bradshaw).

Nah, they appreciate the full Hawk package. Best forward in the game. He’s a lock.

Cameron plays a completely different role this year and i wouldn't even classify him as a tall forward maybe a flanker

So they can easily put Hawkins and Curnow at FF and CHF with Cameron on a flank and it works rather well and would be a nightmare for any team.

If i had to pick a forward line it would be

Bolton Hawkins Cameron
Stengle Curnow Cameron

Jeremy Cameron doesn’t make any forward line too tall. He doesn’t play like lumbering stay at home forward he gets around the ground like a slightly tall midfielder and covers a lot of space. He’s 3cm taller than Bontempelli

It would never happen, but if you can throw midfielders onto forward flanks in the line up, you can easily place Cameron on a wing.
