It depends. We might trade ahead of a bid, but if one comes in before that I daresay a F2 will have to be part of the equation. Probably your F2 and 41 for 22.

I had not considered that. Have you got a weak hand next year?

How does a F2 and 41 help with points to match a bid, or are you already stacked with enough points anyway?

Is Clarke being talked up a bit much because he is a Falcons lad and everyone wants to diddle Geelong? Seeing it a bit on our board too since the Bowes bullshit.

Sorry if someone has asked this but if Alwyn is bid on before 22, surely Essendon do 22 to us for 48 50 52 and 65?? Its more points so a better pick will come back for later (or Munkara) than if they matched it with 22 and change. If Hawthorn include 41 Essendon would get a decent pick back...

Does Dodoro actually hate Hawthorn so much that he would cut off his nose to spite his face?! I struggle to believe that.
I think we're good for picks on Davey. question is does 22 stay intact or do we move it up or out. but the next picks will cover him.

Clark is genuinely worthy imo. You would not think him a short midfielder (he's also 1cm shorter than Wardlaw, so it's not that bad tbh)

Where would Parish go though?
If it's Geelong they don't seem to be capable of offering 2 x top anything in a trade.

All the talk about next years draft seems to be better to hold onto any F2 rather than this years.
can trade back in I guess.
It's a bit of near term bias I guess.

On Parish, I wouldn't just think Geelong.
Hawks, Pies, Dees - all options. Saints too. Question is $$ on offer and do we match/or try get a sharp pick.
A lot of water to go under that bridge over the next 11m imo.

We probably get a few other picks, but points wise we should be okay if we simply add a pick in the 40's.

We don't have a weak hand, the only change to our future picks is that we've replaced our F4 with Sydney's. It's about strengthening our hand if a bid comes in.

I wouldn’t bother with pick trading shenanigans with pick 4.

Just bank it, grab Humphrey and we’ll have a future co captain for Hobbs.
I’m against trading back aswell. but I guess with the draft so even we’ll have to wait for it to play out on draft night. It would have to be a substantial offer to move back.

If Tsatas is the one left over, just pick him. Seriously, there's a reason these 5 have been the top 5 in the vast majority of draft watchers for the entire year. If Wardlaw is the one left over, pick him. In the extremely unlikely event that Sheezel is left over, pick him.

We don't need Jhye Clark.
Exactly this!! We complain about having enough top 5 players which is where you usually find the really good talent and the year we had pick 1 was a weak draft and now we have a draft with 4 live standards and have pick 4, you just take the 1 left. We will regret it if we don't.

question is whether Tsatas is still considered in that group, or is he back a touch and has Clark risen a touch as well

With the way Mahoney spoke and some trades have played out seems like group 1 is Ashcroft, Sheezel, Wardlaw and Cadman, group 2 is Tsatas & clark, then there's a bit of a blanket

We'll give you 22 and our F1 for a couple of those picks and your F1.

gonna throw it out there...reading the tea leaves a little. Im speculating that if Sheezel and Wardlaw go directly after Ashcroft and Cadman, we will offer pick 4 and 54 (will be 5 and 56 after Ashcroft and Fletcher bids) for Saints 9 and 28 (likely then 10 and 29). Saints are desperate to get into the top 5. This means we are in the frame for McKenzie/Phillipou (big body/hard edge/polished skills) while remaining in the second round even if Davey is bid on in the teens...is Tstatas a need? McKenzie/Phillipou, Davey Jr then a throw at the stumps (Weddle/Barnett/Jones??) at 29. If Davey is bid on after 16 but before 22 for instance....we can walk out of the draft with a top ten pick, Davey and a pick inside 30. Shallow draft....speculative after 35-40.

After Ashcroft and Fletcher bids 54 will move forward to 53.

And no, just take Tsatas. Just do it.

Seems like a waste to drop down 5 spots at the top end of the draft just so we can get a late scond round selection in.

Noone is forcing us to take Tsatas at pick 4. If we rate Mckenzie, Clark, Ginbey, Humphrey or whoever else I'd rather lock in that player than be left with fewer options at pick 9.
yeah
really comes down to whether we get something enticing enough to slide back, still get who we want and add more.
I'd be reluctant to slide past 6 tbh.

We will get much better options than that if we want to trade pick 22.

Not to mention we will have 4, maybe 5 list spots and have 5 picks currently. Adding another 4 isn't possible so the trade wouldn't even be allowed.

So no, we don't have to do that deal, like at all.

If we rate him the 7th best player, I’d happily slide back. Ant didn’t seem too hot on him either.

I’m hoping like **** Wardlaw is at our pick anyway.

Tsatas is perfect for us, and exactly they type of player we don't have. Someone with height and skills that can move the ball long.
I'd be stoked with any of Wardlaw/Sheezel/Tsatas/Clark
