I love me some black humour but think I might have a sense of humour failure if he’s rated as a round 1 or 2 prospect.

Not rated that highly, just worth noting he's certainly one to watch mate

It's also very early. Like Moraes was rated top 10 at the start of this year. Things change a lot.

the other thing people have latched onto is the academy thing.. very good being in academies for years but the top age year springs surprises like you pointed out. Would be surprised if we saw 8 academy kids in the top 30 picks like some are even wanting/thinking

Willem Duursma get op and miss the year, then we will be able to grab him with one of our firsts.

If I end up following the 2025 draft we will probably end up trading our 2 second rounders to a academy club for another first. And then 3 x first rounders to Eagles for Harley Reid.

Really interesting what we do next year, we’ve got a pretty good draft hand next year. Could even be stronger if we lose Draper to Adelaide and get a first round pick too.

I do wonder if we try to entice Harley Reid, that would be really intriguing as if we do get a couple top 5 picks, plus another minimum top 10 from Melbourne. We’d certainly have enough to get him, but Richmond could be another team that could challenge us because of North Melbournes incompetence.

Like the look of Riley Onley from Bushies, 195cm mid who could still grow another inch or so and a big frame. Probably tracking for a late first/early second pick.
