Since we last made finals, Hawthorn have made finals (2018), done a full rebuild and now won a final
Yeah, but Nicks rebuilt our culture. Whatever the **** that means.

Also their first win since 2015 GF. That's now another club who has won a final more recently than us leaving only Essendon, North and the GC as clubs who have had longer finals winning droughts than us.

Interesting hearing Hodge talk about Mitchell going to West Coast to get a different perspective to make him a better coach, definitely something our club could learn from.

Also side note would love to have Hodge involved with the club some how, I know its a pipe dream but he has so much footy smarts
Simpson was an assistant under Clarko.

They basically farmed Mitchell out to WCE to get him away from Hawthorn for a while.

Was always going to be the coach after Clarko there.

Hawthorn and WCE are the smartest clubs in the league. WCE will rise again soon.

Not sure what to make of the Dogs. With the gifts they got through father sons and academy they should have an overall better list.

Beveridge needs to go. The way they capitulated against us and the Power showed how fragile they are.
They rely heavily on the Bont playing well, and to his credit he does a lot, but he can't do it constantly. They really need another premier mid and they would be a very good team.

Club hadn't won a final since 2015 though, which was less recent than our last final win before tonight..

Last decade for Hawthorn

1 premiership
4 finals wins
3 top 4 finishes
1 full rebuild and back to finals

Adelaide:

0 premierships
4 finals wins
1 top 4 finish
1 incomplete rebuild

Every time a Hawk player is interviewed you hear words like fun, enjoy and joy.

These dudes love their football and playing with each other.

I also sense there is no picking order...all are equals...meanwhile if the AFC could have Lords and Serfs we would.

Surely our board room morons would watch this game and think
"hmmm, those young hawks are doing well after starting their rebuild after ours. They look like they enjoy themselves, celebrate goals, embrace the occasion. What is the difference??"

Wouldn't of even watched it. Of the Board members I know only one could probably name half a dozen players from either team. They only watch our game and sometimes Port.
