Following the results of the AFL and VFL this week, I'd probably go against my normal mantra and suggest some wholesale changes. I think a few guys need a rest or to play in the magoo's to show them that anyone is replaceable and they need to earn their spot.

I will probably cop a bit of heat for a few of these changes because they're not the most popular opinions, but these are the changes I'd make coming into this game;

OUTS:

Swan (Rested) - I think Swan needs a rest, something doesn't seem right and he has been a consistant work horse for quite some time. I think we need to manage a few of these guys a bit better and maybe a week off to get his body and his mind right is just what he needs.

Lynch (Omitted) - Needs to find some form and is quite a liability at the moment, might need a run in the 2's to get some confidance back. Witts can play his role as Forward/Ruck with the inclusion of Paine & Hudson.

Jolly (Rested) - Another one who has been a work horse over his career, if we want him to have any influence in the latter end of the year we need to manage him a bit better.

Russell (Inj.) - Injured, enough said, don't think he will pull up in time for Brisbane.

Clarke (Omitted) - Straight swap for Shaw.

IN:

Martin - Warrents selection through his VFL form, provides a spark and would be devistated if he didn't get called up for the game.

Paine/Goldsack - If Goldy is right to go, than he gets the gig as third tall in the Forward line, if he isn't 100% than Paine gets called up/

Shaw - Needs to be in the side, we need his energy coming out of the backline and not to mention I feel we've missed how vocal he is in our backline setup.

Ben Johnson - His experience would be extremely valuable, has been playing well and deserves selection above a few.

Hudson - Our best option for the ruck this week, we need someone on fresh legs who can tap to advantage - may not be the long term answer, but he is the answer for this week I think.

Luenberger and brown in doubt. Surely, we cant lose this game.

Round 10 has a habit of being a jinx round for us, in that we somehow manage to win the fixture no matter who we are playing. Eagles last year, Crows the year before and the Pies in 2010. And we are playing in our traditional guernsey, might be a lot closer than people think.

So basically your reasons for it being a close game are meaningless coincidences.

Way to take it out of context. I was simply stating how it has been a jinx round for us in the past, against much better opponents at the time. The Adelaide game in 2011 was won by 40+ points.
What context?

You said how round 10 has been a good round for you, then you said you were playing in your old jumper, then you said the game will be close. How else is anyone meant to link those statements?

Adelaide were a basket case in 2011. They sacked their coach.

Some changes will obviously have to be made. The side we fielded on Friday night was way too slow for today's football.Shaw,Johnson,Martin should come in for Witts,Russell and Clarke. And Hudson obviously comes in if Jolly gets rubbed out by the tribunal.

Mine are very close to yours:

In Martin, Shaw, Paine
Out: Witts, Russell, Clarke
With Paine in it allows us to Ruck Lynch for about 30% -40% of the game

If Goldsack is fit I think he may come in and Paine may miss

I rather Witts plays the Lynch Role. Lynch has done nothing since RD 2

I'm in agreement with the above changes except I would add Johnson as an in and Williams as an out. Williams has been solid since returning, but doesn't have the hurt factor going the other way that Johnson can provide.

Outs: Russell (inj), Lynch (omit), Jolly (rest), Clarke (omit)
Ins: Shaw, Paine, Hudson, Martin

I didn't think Russell was awful this week but he probably wont be able to get up for the game. Either way though, Shaw is an automatic in and I want to keep Marley in the side.. don't think hes put a foot wrong in the past fortnight so he should be allowed an extended run.

Lynch has been pretty ordinary since the Carlton game imo.. has lost all the penetration in his kicking and is offering us little up forward. I'd rather persist with Witts as the relief ruck in the short term and give Paine a gig as that extra tall forward. And with the question marks over Leuensandwich's fitness, its a big opportunity to take advantage of the ruck situation.

Jolly needs to be managed correctly if we're to have any impact in September. Huddo knows the brions ruckman better than anyone and we've got to keep the season interesting for him, so lets give him a run.. just not at the expense of Witts.

Martin must come in.. whether its Clarke that makes way, or someone else.. he must come in. He's been playing exceptional footy and deserves his shot.

Dids and Jono are the interesting pair in the twos at the moment

cant wait to see this game! hopefully you guys don't bow us away in the first quarter :p

I'm excited to watch the game too. Collingwood vs Brisbane games always have a bit of heat to them. Who are the guys to look out for on your side?

Well I'm not sure, seeing as our team is pretty much unconfirmed, so I'll just go on instinct and say zorko, simon black, justin clarke, redden and moloney

rockliff had a pretty ordinary night last night so i think I'll leave him out off it. :p

Lynch is good when Witts isn't there, the 3 talls thing is garbage, doesn't work unless all 3 are mobile and a second ruckman isn't.

If I could address anything it would be the amount of times we win the clearance, rush the kick forward and have the spare opposition player mark it easily and start setting up the counterattack.
heck, fix it now!

We would have to be the slowest team in the league wouldn't we? It's a big contributor to why we've been getting blown away.

With all due respect to Brisbane if we lose this game I will go apeshit, and I haven't really so far this year.

No excuses this week, we either win or it's rebuilding time for 2014.

Yet if we win it we will head into the bye in 3 weeks with an 8-4 record.

Yes, we probably aren't a premiership threat this year but to have 10 games left and be sitting on the edge of the top four will actually be a half decent result considering some of the shit that has been spilt over this board in the last few weeks about individual players, the coach and the club.
