Nah, we will top Eddie's week off... and If anyone tries any rough stuff with SOSOS I'll be furious.
At least you have a nice avatar, whoever it is?

I'm here all night.
Great pic, but it's who they actually play for that counts, if they are any good

Hope he gets the same welcome to the AFL that Jack Watts was given by the pies on his debut.

Them playing Silvagni has to be a bonus for us, the kid isn't ready for senior footy, so that's 21 players they are down to already.

No excuses today, we should win this game, Murphy is a huge out for them, he always kills us when the beat us (which hasn't been too often lately) so without him we should be able to at least break even in the middle.

Their forward line is where we win this game. Last time we went in without Brown or Frost, and Levi took 12 marks or something like that, that and a lapse after half time cost us the match.

Keep the intensity up for four quarters and we win, simple.

On paper we have a fantastic midfield. Where do you think we are going wrong? Is it depth/structure/ruck disadvantage that is holding us back?

Ruck mixed with depth and foot skill.

Missing Adams the last few weeks has really hurt, but even before that, when we had pretty much our full midfield available (apart from Swan who would play forward mostly) we were still getting beat by pretty average groups (St Kilda, Melbourne, Carlton etc) in the middle.

Seems we lack actual depth in that midfield after the first rotation goes out.

De Goey and Crisp are still inconsistent and Greenwood has had a terrible year.

But Carlton's midfield isn't any better, in fact it's worse without Murphy, so no excuses today.

I'll be surprised if Pendlebury has a big game tonight, hasn't done it all year.
Ah this old chestnut, Pendles hasn't had a good year.

He obviously had that injury earlier in the season that he played with, and that did effect his game.

But in his last 7 games he's had 4 games over 30 possessions and the other three were over 25.

What more can one do?

I actually think Swan would be playing midfield if he hadn't injured himself as that midfield depth in the rotation is so important. I agree with your assessment. Crisp I think is really good, but has bad weeks. DeGoey gets rated higher than his output warrants, but he is young and his development needs to be fast tracked. Greenwood to me is a big disappointment. I love his attack on ball and man, but he is just not constructive at all with ball in hand and it hurts the team. We really need Grundy to become the final product quickly also.

That and Pendlebury actually hits targets and gains quality field position for us. He creates. A world apart from a group in our team that are content to blindly snap the ball forward over their shoulder at the first sign of pressure. Creating little but turn overs.

Hence why I said "big" game? He hasn't won any games this year from his own boot, something he usually does half a dozen times a season.

Its crazy stuff isn't it?
Pendles would be running a close 2nd to Treloar in the Copeland

It just goes to show some posters cannot see what is right under their nose

Yeah I've said this before that he suffers from high expectations more than anyone else on our list, and maybe in the entire afl. His last 7 weeks have been old school pendles and he would be our best player in that period.

He's far from being part of our current problems

Thats prob the best our backline has looked for awhile.
Goldsack with bit of pace should boost a little bit. Still maynard off the bench.
Reid in good form aswell and brown.
Should free howe up.

But none over 40.

What a hack, put him out to pasture.
