2 flags in 3 years and im ready to retire and watch Geelong and relax, except when we play Collingwood, there is only 2 games we have to win, both against them..

Front row on the fifty line, im going to go nuts.....

GO THE CATS.............................KILL'EM

A few noises coming out of the club about players having soreness. We wouldn't be foxing would we? Let the Pies have this one so they become premiership favourites and we sail under the radar and blitz them at the end of the year. I still believe we tanked round 21 2007 v Port Adelaide.

3rd gear??..there are a whole bunch of Woodsmen who have spent their careers in 3rd gear - Thomas, Didak ( what might he have been if he didn't mind winning the hard footy ), Cloke ( defines the word unfulfilled potential ), Davis, even Swan who still kicks the ball with his head in prayer posture, amongst others. They are playing well, but their are a lot of Pies reputations open to question this Friday. A poor game from some of the abovementioned could see the wheels falling off over the next month. One thing I absolutely don't want to see is Maxwell getting " loose man back " uncontested marks whilst getting a block from another defender. One on One the guy has got nothing ( though is courageous ). He needs to be exposed!

Predictions for this game?

My record of picking our games is 7-1 so far, meaning I have picked our 2 losses but also picked 1 other loss we didn't have!

FWIW, Pies by 29, having too much run in the last/4, legacy of poor scheduling (should have been a Sat pm game), not allowing us sufficient recovery with 3 games in 12 days!

I'd love to see us doing something similar to what we did with Archer in the 2007 Qualifying Final. We noticed that Archer tended to drift off his opponent to go third man up against Mooney, so we made him accountable by using Chapman as a lead up forward.

Do the same thing on Friday night with Maxwell's opponent and see how he handles it.

Balmey and Bomber using reverse psychology - already offering excuses about the impact of the ground hardness at Brisbane.

Cats will win by 19 points with the usual suspects dominating - Ablett, Chapman and Stevie J. Here are my votes in advance:

5. Ablett; 4. Chapman; 3. Johnston; 2. Scarlett; 1. Varcoe

Collingwood's new game plan leaks goals like a sieve, and you don't give a side like Geelong a sniff...

Live footy on Friday night in SA

Hi and thanks for allowing me to post on your board. Just a headsup that the game between Collingwood and Geelong is NOT being shown LIVe into SA by channel 7. I have rang them and they said it would not rate here in SA. My reply to them was not nice . I also tried to email the Channel but they don't have an email address. (no wonder we in SA are referred to as THE BACKWARD STATE). I am not a Collingwood or Geelong supporter but love live footy on TV. I think this decision is a SLUR on the footy fans in SA . The game is being Telecast LIVE into Melbourne and I assume Tasmania as well. My reason for this thread is to ask all SA Colling wood members and fans and Geelong SA footy members and fans to please phone Channel 7 Adelaide and put in a complaint. I also ask all footy fans in SA to call Channel 7. This will be a fantastic game and I dont want to watch Home and Away and Better Homes and Gardens when i could be watching LIVE FOOTY. Thanks :)

Any other Freo posters in here? :)

If we agree to let you nearly beat us again later in the year, will you lot agree to smash the Pies who are May Premiership Specialists? :thumbsu:

Watch out for the gutless flood.

BTW, we forgive you for pinching Harry Taylor from WA.

Don't worry...we've been dealing with floods for 3 years.

I reckon Geelong will "rest" a few players with "general soreness" this week.
Expect some shock omissions on Thursday.

I usually like to get to the big games but can't make it this weekend, i planned the saints trip a few months back! Ahhhhhhh anyway go you cats! spewing it doesnt look like it's live in SA either..

"Gutless flood." LOL! Grasping at straws aren't you?

We are one of the most attacking teams in the league at the moment. Our defensive pressure has been top notch at the same time. Stop pretending we aren't a good team.

Do something in September worth a pinch of shit and we might consider it.

Not at all.

Soreness may determine which players take the field, but it won't have an iota of effect on the commitment of the players who do take the field once they cross the line. Round 9 it may only be, but this team hates losing, and that's more than enough motivation. :thumbsu:

You don't become a good team by being April specialists. Therefore, you are not a good team yet.

What do you know it's Mr 'We're gunna smash the Pies by 8 goals" now hoping other teams do the job for him. Embarassing

Let me re-phrase that then.

Stop pretending we aren't in good form. Yes, this may change before the end of the season.

Of course, I would definitely agree. I'm just saying you don't earn or get the tag 'good side' until you can perform in September this year.

Fair call, and a few of your in form players (esp Cloke) need to make a statement. I'm expecting a very tight game. Interesting to see if Wnty's call about changes rings true.

Heard a guy on the radio talking about Collingwoods 'great recent record' against us. Talk about living off one result. We've won 4 out of the last 5 (5 of the last 6 including 09 NAB Cup GF), turn it up.
