So I mentioned that on the Sts board. Went down like a lead balloon. Very popular suggestion. 😁
Yeah, I can imagine. Skinny ruck with zero profile - not exactly the sexiest suggestion!

Maybe an upgrade of 22 to 9 with some late picks to help with our bids. But that’s only if Bryan is desperate to leave. He’ll definitely get opportunities at the saints, Ryder retired, Marshall seemingly injured regularly and Hayse has an ACL.

Francis was tracking ok/fine as a defender and had some excellent games along the way.

He really went missing when he was tried forward and Laverde became this pretty good defender

I thought he needed to go home, so be interesting if he feel he doesnt. Definitly could be a very good 3rd tall defender at any club

Id say Sydney are purely picking him as depth with the McCartin boys and Rampe albeit getting on. Will Gould and Melican as current depth... unsure if both are kept on the list

I thought North should go for him but then Logue became available

Geelong appear to be the frontrunner for everything until they're not.

I can see the appeal from Bowes' perspective though, he might have to agree to a restructured deal if that's what he chooses.
I posted this on the D&T board.
I thought the basis of Geelongs success (amongst other things) was the lack of greed from the stars? Surely it wouldn’t be a good idea to get Bowes in on that bloated contract from a cultural perspective.

That’s really more of an Essendon thing.

Edmunds reckons Geelong the front runners for Bowes. Same with Twomey.

At this point we’re no chance without a coach to sell the vision of a midfield spot for him. I think Twomey mentioned Geelong have been putting their feelers out for a while so no doubt they’re leading the chase. An off season of Bruhn, Henry, Bowes and possibly Clarke (7) would be solid!

He went missing when he was dropped as a defender because he had no second efforts and then missed more time with mental health. Others went past him.

Felt like he deserved to be given a crack at reclaiming a position that suits him best after one bad game, but from memory thats when he went amiss with mental health issues for a bit which probably didnt help his chances

Hope he succeeds elsewhere as a genuine 3rd tall interceptor

Wtf are the Eagles doing delisting Nelson? There’s your still free but non psychopath Mitch Robinson

I wouldn’t be restructing the deal if it was me, it’s money he’s owed because Gold Coast have continually pushed back his money back and put him in this position.

Except for the fact that he's a defender and not a winger

He’s literally the worst player in the afl. He’s so bad it’s not funny.
He's not great but he's better than guys like Kayne Turner and... Yeah that's about it

I think you could pretty comfortably plug his skill set in on a wing to good effect. He’d be a good glue guy.

Surely the cats have space in their cap now.
Selwood $600k+
Higgins $400k+
Dalhaus $350k+

Tanner Braun & Ollie Henry $200-250k
Selwood was on a lot less than that I believe.

Id hope theyre on more than that, but you never know with the cats. Bruhn wouldve earnt about that this year

Also i doubt Higgins and Dahl were on as much as that if Hawkins is reported to be playing on for 300k ish next year

Plus it was said Henry was looking at chasing money

They tried and he was really bad.

Agree to disagree, reckon he could be a defensively sticky utility and has good aerobic capacity, which is should clearly be the goal.

Can apparently add Xavier O’Halloran to the big, lucite sweepstakes barrel of medium grunt midfielders that present as an option for us to ignore.
