Media reporting defender/midfielder

At 187cm, he'd certainly be a welcome addition alongside Merret, Shiel and Parish
Was a good mid in his junior year. Misused by GCS to the point he doesnt play now (sound familiar?)

He'd line up in our 22 rather easily i think.

Graham is interesting. Was it purely a move home or opportunity given he has taranto and hopper coming in to richmond.

Would ask the question of both player and club. Ticks many a box for us

Graham, bowes, 7 and either of bedford or narkle (even both) would be a good haul.

The only goal I have for this trade/ free agency period is Jack Bowes.
I am unsure if he will make it as a player but if we take his 1.5 million over 2 years and give up a 2023 2nd as well it is a good result for the club.
‘I gotta think Bowes would have a greater chance of making at essendon rather than geelong
Fair to say at 24 years of age, can't get game at GC, your time is pretty much up.

Only thing for us would be to get 2 top 10 picks and add some more talent.

If we are confident in that then we should do it. But giving up Pick's may weaken out hand next year especially if we need to trade for someone.

They are pretty stacked in the midfield.
‘wright couldn’t get a game at gc and been alwright for us.
the top 10 pick is a real Filip for predominantly salary cap space
we may even get away with a future 3rd
gc need to trade him

Was injured this year, coming back from shoulder surgery. Was forging a pretty good career up until then. His ball use is outstanding and he can find the footy. Would be a very handy addition to our side.

Ratogulea anyone??
Looked good at CHB late in the season.
Could be another 2MP
(Or another Alf Stewart)
I would take a look at Ratogulea as a Ruck/FF. There seems to be an underperforming/underutilised KPF every year that out performs their billing.

Who woulda thunk Wright and Mabior Chol would kick 90+ goals between them this year for example.

So how do you rate his game when sides start to put some physical pressure on him like they did at the end of 2021 and this year ? There where a lot of times when he simply did not have the power to extract the footy.
Winning games for us is players buying into team defense first of all.
It is simple really. He is in the best 3 or 4 players on the list yet he is not in the best 20 midfielders in the comp. He would be the second or third best midfielder at most clubs yet we are happy with him being in our best players.
Sorry to be such a "hand wringer " and actually wanting players who will actually play to a better standard and not just accumulate possessions and play one way.
Totally agree with your take on what has occurred so far

Scott won’t change Parish’s power.. but I do think it’s worth seeing how much being coached by a hard ass can push someone like Parish to participate well in team defense.

There are reports Parish walks around the club like he’s the duck’s nuts. If Scott is who I think he is, Parish is about to be humbled or pushed out.

Yes we would likely get better value this year in a trade than in 2023 FA comp but there is no way Scott is not going to take next year to at least have a go at reforming the worst parts of Parish’s game.

Yeah those examples provide very clear lessons to look beyond what seems logical “x can’t get a game at Y.. so how could he succeed for us”

I'm also keen to see if Scott can bring a competitive defensive beast out of Parish, however, he reiterated a couple of times yesterday that he wants to bring in as much "elite young talent" as possible.
That suggests to me that at the least we're going to go hard at acquiring Bowes7, and if an offer comes for Parish (or Shiel?) then maybe we'll entertain that.
