Yep, completely degrades the dedication in effort and training required to acquire their skills.
In all seriousness, I have the same reaction when I hear nutters attribute the construction of pyramids to aliens, as though these people could not possibly have had the intelligence to do it themselves. And let's be honest, Aboriginal people invented an aerodynamic stick with the capacity to hover.

I'll stop ranting now.

Was just thinking out aloud but,

Cadman/Sheezel. They're both needed.

Example: IF we got Bowes,Graham and Narkle then our midfield has got more quality and depth. Lets say we miss Bedford.
We would still have a massive gap at small forward( we're assuming and hoping a lot with Davey,Tex,Menzies work) if we're happy with smalls we can get Cadman. We only have 2MP, Jones and possibly Stewart who can play AFL standard KPF. Baldwin, I like but needs a big pre-season and more VFL time IMO.

Overall, I would rather keep 4+7 and hope for one of Cadman/Sheetal fall ( don't think they will) because we really need one of them. Then grab Humphreys or Phillipou. Moot point though because I don't think we get Bowes or #7 tbh.
Reckon either one of Sheezel, Cadman, Tsatas will be available at 4. Anyone of those would fill a need in my opinion. Rather two good players than one imo.

1. W Ashcroft (Bris)
2. G Wardlaw (NM)
3. A Cadman (WCE)
4. H Sheezel (GWS)
5. E Tsatas (Ess)
6. M Phillipou (Adel)
7. J Clark (Haw)
8. C McKenzie (Ess)

Tsatas probably does not fill a need for us right now. He is not physical and does not pressure.
I can not see North taking another midfielder personally. Horne - Francis , Powell , LDU , Simpkin , Phillips.
I think it will be Cadman or Sheezal for North.

Not to mention fish trap canals, scaffolding and the oldest stone tool discovered was created by the Aboriginal people. Canoes and a bunch of other things too I’m forgetting. Also managing the forest through back burning and renewal, very intelligent and advanced people.

part of me can see them taking Wardlaw.
JHF - LDU - Wardlaw at the stoppages is a ton of power.
But i reckon they're a big chance to grab Cadman.

In any event, i'd be lining up something with WCE for draft night in the event it's someone else.

Sustainable land management does it for me. They had their s*** together.

Have a look at Australia Wars if you haven’t already. Really good watch.

Is anyone else quietly bullish on our chances on Bowes picking us? Probably blind optimism but the news of Scott wasting no time to meet with him has me filled with unwarranted confidence. With the cap the way it is and the best 22 shake up with a new coach and game plan thinking we’re in with a descent shot at least. If it’s the only trade that gets done this off-season I won’t be disappointed
It does depend how much we have to give up

That seems a real unknown, but yeh should be priority.

Getting the best position with 22 and Jack Bowes/7 should be the only focus

I personally struggle to see Geelong offering too much more than 600k a year... just isnt geelong

A 5 year deal has to be considered, which comes with its risk

The big thing people can't get there head around is ancient civilisations were more advanced than what we are told. Mainstream will tell you they used sticks and stones, yet clear evidence of large saws were used to cut stones of various hardness and size.
Reminds me of how the world has never been so connected yet we have never been so disconnected with technology.
History gets rewritten, old artifacts, infrastructure and historical sites are demolished, purged from existence. Then we get statues of George Floyd and told a lie, eventually the people of the time forget or pass away and information lost through generations.

What's the context of the saw that you've mentioned?
Re: the George Floyd statue, I don't mind that in principle in terms of what it represents because memorials are vital to consciousness. But if you're referring to the nuffies who pulled the statues of slavers down, I think we need to understand the anger that did that. I think it's important to keep those things - you can add a plaque next to it that gives more context and tells the true story, but its existence helps to tell the story. But I also understand the anger, and the photos of people throwing a statue of a slaver into a river will eventually reflect the zeitgeist of the time. I'd compare it to the images of Hussein's statue being pulled down. No one likes a dictator.

I get what you're saying though, about revisionism, but it is important. The incomplete story of war in this country that is told by the AWM is a good example. History is not only written by the victors, it can be revised and republished by the powerful. They need to be kept in check, but they also need to be encouraged to do what is ethically right and responsible.

Man, I just got up and it's Sunday morning and I haven't even had coffee yet.
Why this?

If Bowes chooses us then I think it will be a future pick , probably F2. Maybe a swap of second round picks as they have 3 this year , 22 for 32 so they move up in the draft and also get one of their third or fourth round picks. The cream for us will be going to the draft with 4 & 7 and keeping our F1. We use up some mid range picks on A Davey.
Something like Pick 22 and F2 for Bowes , 7 + 32 + 68.
Not sure we get much in for Francis. Sydney 4th with help with some points.
Other than some live trading I do not see much more. If we stay with Brand and Eyre we will have 6 spots.

Adelaide will be trading that pick to Gold Coast in the Rankine deal

Agree. There may be some back and fourth with some later picks. Crows would maybe like pick 25 to give them 23 and 25 in this draft.

If we get Bowes in and give up 22, doesn't the possibility exist that we can't match an early bid for ADavey (presuming we'd rather not use 7 to match)?

I think it works that if we traded out 22 for 7 and went to the draft with picks; 4, 7, 41, 59, 77 then we'd likely use the picks that total the draft selection points allocation and end up picking a couple of players right at the arse end of the draft.

As Ant mentioned, more than likely pass and leave open for supplementary selections that we've had some reasonable success with

I would say it is 99.9% unlikely that Davey gets a bid inside the top 10. It is possible but my view is it will not happen. I think the Davey bid will be 14 to 20.
I think any trades will have some form of 3rd or 4th round picks coming in for points. My suggestion was a swap of second round position so they get 22 and we get 32 plus their 4th , pick 68.
We go to the draft with 4 7 32 41 59 68 77.

Yeah but I don't think ADavey goes at the back end of the draft...

99.9% unlikely because clubs have good will? ...in the spirit of the draft?

?
You use the points from your mid range picks to match. You do not need 22. You just need three later picks.

No because that is not where he is rated. Clubs are not going to bid on a player not rated in the top 10 just to **** us over and we would simply say he is yours if they did.
