OUT OF CONTRACT 2022;

Cody Brand
Nik Cox
Tom Cutler
Josh Eyre
Aaron Francis
Matt Guelfi

Brayden Ham
Dyson Heppell
Nick Hind
Michael Hurley
Kyle Langford
Anthony McDonald - Tipungwuti
Andrew McGrath
Archie Perkins

Andrew Phillips
Zac Reid
James Stewart

(2) Red is certainties to be moved on (Michael Hurley, Brayden Ham)
(9) Orange im none plussed with (Tom Cutler, Josh Eyre, Cody Brand, Aaron Francis, Matt Guelfi, Dyson Heppell, Tippa, Andrew Phillips, James Stewart)
(6) Green are the ones I'd like resigned (Nik Cox, Nick Hind, Kyle Langford, Andrew McGrath, Archie Perkins, Zac Reid)

My ideal world would be;

Brand ~ delisted
Cox ~ 2 years
Cutler ~ 1 year
Eyre ~ demoted to rookie list
Francis ~ delisted/traded
Guelfi ~ 1 year
Ham ~ delisted
Heppel ~ 1 year
Hind ~ 2 years
Hurley ~ retired
Langford ~ 3 years
Tippa ~ 1 year
McGrath ~ 3 yeara
Perkins ~ 4 years
Phillips ~ 1 year
Reid ~ 3 years
Stewart ~ 1 year

That'd be 5 from the main list (Brand, Eyre, Francis, Ham Hurley) with potentially two more to come (Tippa and Phillips)

Would allow us to upgrade at least Martin to the main list and possibly Durham if one or both of Tippa &/or Phillips retire.

I’d keep brand over Stewart.

Yoda, I'm not having a go, just curious; do you watch the VFL or training sessions?

Apologies if this was already posted, but;

“They’ve got a salary cap position that puts them in a really strong position to hit the trade market and free agency market really aggressively this year,” he said on SEN Breakfast.

“They didn’t do much trade work last year, they didn’t land Bobby Hill, that’ll again be a target for them in this coming off-season.

“I think they’ve got the coin to make some things happen and if I was going to make any big calls about the off-season, it would be that the Bombers be making some aggressive moves.”

Not sure I am in a hurry to delist Brand. His VFL this year has been decent.

Apologies if this was already posted, but;

Wonder if he means another crack at hill or just looking to address the small forward gap

I can see us approaching dunkley again. And ideally taranto.
Mahoney link might see brayshaw become an option.
Blues did well to get cerra and hewett in in one go. So perhaps a swoop for two of the above plus hill.

I wouldn't be attempting trade that would require giving over a pick in the first two rounds. We still need to build up our young talent base.

FA's like Brayshaw are fine because they may not cost picks and we have the cap space to ensure Melbourne can't match.

I'm okay with giving up a second.

I'm not.

Our second round pick would have been handly last year for example when Roberts, Howes, Draper, Zac Taylor or Arthur Jones (who were into) were all on the board. If we finish 10th-13th like I suspect there could be some good value at that pick.

The Alwyn Davey bid complicates it a bit this year but I am talking generally over the next couple of years.

I'm specifically talking this year. This year's second probably needs to be traded anyway

Sure, I was talking specifically over the next few years generally.

This year I imagine we will try and parlay the pick into an earlier one or trade out to a future second next year, which would still suit what I mean.

I wouldn't either, was just suggesting it wouldn't surprise if he was. How many under 24 key defenders can we carry was the bigger picture. Eyre, Brand, Reid, BZT is close to that category as well.

Josh has been playing forward this year. Right now McBride look the best of them playing back and second ruck.
Reid also has played at both ends previously as well as ruck.

I still prefer those two switched

We should start inquiring about players who’s clubs are feeling the squeeze with the salary cap.

We could definitely nab Hopper for a future second/salary cap room.

We couldn't even get Bobby Hill for a future second. There's no way GWS will let a contracted Hopper come to Essendon/Dodoro for a future second.

Probably, but they are going to need money to pay Green, Cumming, Taranto and Bruhn. Hoppers the one I see who could be pushed out.
