Laughable the AFL has vitoed any deals before 3pm to monetise trade radio

Can trades actually be made, paper work lodged and AFL agree ahead of 3? They just won't be announced?

If a trade is made to wait for 3pm yet it's the first of a few dominoes to fall the AFL are hampering further trades from progressing.

Nope. But you usually have 4-5 trades in the first 15 minutes of it. Once teams have agreed to a trade they communicate it to their other partners though.

It's not like they can put a price on his head that other clubs won't be able to afford.

BZT is arguably the better player though. I say we go back to asking for a first just to live up to the Dodo name.

There's already some reported as being agreed (like Soldo) and I assume you can pre-fill the paperwork so you just go and drop it off at 3pm. I don't think the AFL officially accept or process it until 3pm, and from memory it has to be dropped off in-person for the TV coverage.

In fairness to Port the offer of 24 for Ratugolea was pretty fair IMO. Geelong were the hold-up there.

The Port list manager also came out and said words to the effect of it'll probably get done for a Duursma and BZT swap, so it seems like there's little reason to bother offering anything different.

Geelong somehow get away with probably being the toughest team to deal with at the trade table.

You know that does go both ways - BZT has nominated Port, so your argument should equally apply to them.

Is it though? What's done is done, we've traded to fill the holes, one of the picks was used by GWS on Caldwell who we've literally traded back in. We have no salary cap issues due to Shiel.

It was the wrong decision, but it's not the catastrophic one people pretend it is.

As i said, the Scotts and Dodoro have concocted a plan where both clubs (Geel and Ess) need to be happy before either proceeds and this also in turn reduces the leverage Port have by any PSD nonsense

How can they walk both Esava and Zerk to the PSD and how can they like others have said with 1 even having the 14th pick when teams above them have been crying for KPDs (Hawks, North, Crows)
