Is it though? What's done is done, we've traded to fill the holes, one of the picks was used by GWS on Caldwell who we've literally traded back in. We have no salary cap issues due to Shiel.

It was the wrong decision, but it's not the catastrophic one people pretend it is.

Weve lost players which have helped the cap no doubt, but we cant be relying on losing guys like Saad, Daniher, Mckenna, Fantasia types in form ect

Don't agree we only really looked into Duursma after BZT had chosen port and Duusma was told to look for opportunities elsewhere. I'd pass of a 3rd round pick but not a 2nd.

Not the end of the world to lose Mass for nothing. He never held much value so wouldn't have been much more than a 3rd rounder at best which don't have a lot of use for us.

We knew about the rule, but getting pick 63 was basically the same as losing him for nothing. We would have been stripped of it before the draft for not having enough available spots

In fairness to Port the offer of 24 for Ratugolea was pretty fair IMO. Geelong were the hold-up there.

The Port list manager also came out and said words to the effect of it'll probably get done for a Duursma and BZT swap, so it seems like there's little reason to bother offering anything different.

I wouldn’t pay that for esava either. He’s not good

Hawks were also aware of the rules and wernt offering more than pick 63

We may have to get the suns involved in a 3 way

We were never going to use Pick 63. Don't fall for the clickbait media hype acting like it's some kind of coup by the Hawks.

Whether he was traded for 63 or left as a DFA it was effectively meaningless to our draft position either way.

1. Nearly all clubs choose to give their rookies who aren’t automatic upgrades like martin 3 years on the rookie list
2. We don’t have a senior list spot available for mass

It is when it will be taken off us before the draft starts. That pick would be our fourth pick, when we're likely only going to have 3 list spots. It isn't as if we can trade it on draft night, which is what GC would have required.

Yes. Exactly the same as getting pick 63 for us. It's a pick likely to be stripped from us before the draft. Therefore, useless.
