So because we don't have those classier, faster, smarter team, you are happy to see us meander aimlessly without trying something different? Good for you, don't think any of us have the patience.
The Afl gave us this shit team. She can only do what she can, with what she has got. She deserves to be given some time with better players available. We have improved. Which considering our list and major loses to personnel this season, is a bloody good effort

Losing to a bottom 4 team has got nothing to do with players selected 6 years ago.

So from my post you plucked out the gender of the coach? Maybe go back and read it again.
No need. Very few teams have had the expansion teams damage them as much as we have. He may have had just as much trouble as Lisa. Who knows.
You are extrapolating out from different circumstances

Just looking at the numbers East had 10 tackles in each of her last two full games in rounds 3 & 4 so there's a bit to search with there. That's approaching on Bowers territory... almost 😉.

She actually only missed 1.5 weeks in the end though, getting concussed in r5.

And she only debuted in '22, so it's a little harsh putting strong judgements on that year especially.
Edit: missed the Hawks game too... obviously d'uh. So yes 2 + games.

What annoys me is that the whole time the eagles have sucked, they have received priority picks in a draft that only impacted us. It was always going to be hard to get top talent the last few years and I think that’s affected our teams performance.

I've been impressed with Webb's coaching chops. She's got something.

We're still right in this season too despite losing our best player. I'd be happy for her to have more time.

Emotion after a loss to a bottom 4 side will always be high but have to look at the season as a whole.
I wasn’t a fan of recruiting all these older players but they have been fantastic and although we look a mile off the top sides like NM, Bris and Adel, I can’t help to think how close we would be to those sides with Bowers, Tighe and Stannett and if we can get them all out on the park next year then maybe we are a chance.

Tighe and to a lesser extent Stannet are big losses. Unfortunately I think we have seen the best of Bowers, she still definitely is in our best 22 but not the player she used to be. Miller was missed today.

But make no mistake that Carlton team is bog average.

FWIW I was a big supporter of Webb, but I'm not sure anyone would be able to identify our game style, if we in fact have one.

Bowers still shits all over our bottom 10 players

The depth is being tested and the reality is we don't have much depth

I'm a bit confused. We have lack talent and no plan/bad coaching. We must be the luckiest side around with the outcomes we've been getting...🤷🏻

Generally it seems we look to get extra numbers around the contest and then look to outnumber around the inside contest, while still having numbers outside to release it to and then get it into the corridor if we can.

Daniel Harford, when he commentated our game a few weeks back was contrasting the game plans nicely.

Unfortunately we tend to fall into a comfort game where we look for whatever space seems safer. This can push us more boundary side (eg those slow wheeling around to the preferred kicking boot actions), rather than taking more direct attacking angles.

The forward play is a bit of a mess (were not lone rangers there though). Me, I'd ban all set shots outside of 30m. We'd be much better off trying to pepper that 30m hotspot. And maybe ensure we have someone in the attacking goal square more often and more numbers streaming back into the forward line with those entries to crumb the loose ball.

Our forward line had 30 players in it pretty much the whole game theirs didn't. Who is responsible for that?

Enlighten me, where did I mention lack of talent?

The same Daniel Harford who got sacked as Carlton's AFLW coach?
Getting sacked is an occupational hazard as a coach (the club includes Leigh Matthews and Malcolm Blight). Are you saying sacked coaches are incapable of good analysis?

Most AFLW coaches are having to manage their squads developmentally as much as strategically. But fans (including club committee members) can tend to watch emotionally and overly focus in on what frustrates them in the moment. The bigger picture can get lost.

No i just don't know what a commentators "expert" opinion a few weeks back has anything to do what happened yesterday. If you can't see that both teams went about it differently yesterday, particularly in each forward line and if you can't see we are a much better team than Carlton, yet we lost at home it's pointless discussing it further.

Players across the league can fall into ball watching and being reactive. Normally we quite good at paying with less reactivity. Especially after breaks and half time. I'd give that credit to Webb getting to refresh that message to players.

Yesterday for whatever reason we seemed much flatter. I wonder if they had a lighter week on the training track in response to the compressed schedule.

It's also say teams can travel with a plan to disrupt a higher team on the ladder's game plan. It becomes a mission.

Oh and weren't you talking about the missing players?

You were saying essentially there is no evidence of a game plan...were you not?

I said they were big losses, I've never said we don't have the talent.
My point is that it's mainly on how we were coached yesterday.
Yesterday was very disappointing, no doubt. It's hard in such a short season to be losing games like that and it starts to undo the big advantage we had with the away wins (the hub giveth and the hub taketh away 🤪).

Definitely we need to work on our forward structure which includes how we bring it in there. Doing it on the run, with a side with many newbies (in key roles too), is challenging for any coach. I mean we've only had one big loss though, so that's a plus.

Would you agree we've had more a stifled talent flow from the draft than most? Not to mention the raids on our existing talent stocks...
