With Clarko appearing to play a straight bat to the media on his future. The NMFC board is clearly on the back foot, so time to send in the Piece de Résistance to bowl him over.
Yeah, I might just let that one go through to the keeper.

Without having any inside info on this, I see two possibilities:

1) We already had a detailed discussion and Clarko has come up with some sticking points or took time to consider and we are using Ponting as a bit of a push to get it over the line.
In this case it’s a relatively positive situation.

2) Sonja doesn’t have the “balls” to approach Clarko and wants Ponting to gauge his interest. If this is the case it’s a real amateur hour and Clarko may be turned off by it entirely

Personally, if I was advising Sonja, I’d have a meeting with the club being represented by Sonja, Geoff Walsh (even though he isn’t employed by the club he can give open outcomes of his review which Clarko would find interesting) and John Blakey representing the footy department. Ideally Rawlings and Amarfio should also be there but not sure if both have a job beyond the next 4 weeks

The club has talked to his agent. We would know whether or not he has interest in the job.

Nah we just "want it over" apparently. Just hire whoever.

Really professional way to go about it, that type of thinking is exactly why we are in this position - yet posters keep falling for the same clowns saying it.

3) we had already gauged Clarko’s interest before Noble departed and that’s why the call was made to sever ties so quickly?..

Hard to rule that out. Would always take some time to hammer out the boatload of details (approaching people to be his assistants would certainly be tricky) and the club clearly wants to paint themselves as going through a slow methodical process. Can't help but wonder what the fastest turnaround is for a coach sacking before hiring a new one, would look bad to do it too fast.

I agree with people hoping it comes to an end soon though, as fun as these threads can be a times it's also quite silly just how much we alternate between jumping at shadows and jumping for joy with every miniscule media snippet.

I gots a mates who calls us Norths (yes he's a member) and I reckons its somethings rugbys peoples (both codes) do. Not all the times, just after a couple of beer or a scoobs sometimes. I've only heards rugby peoples refers to us thats way. Obviouslys theys don't gets thes significances of the added "s"s.
My old man learnt English growing up and working on Lygon Street and he calls us Norsé 🤷🏻‍♂️ (can’t pronounce the th)

Now there's a man who hasn't looked like being relevant since 1995:

I don't know, his stoush with Sheeds on 'talking footy' was pretty damn good

Punter: Hello Alistair, great you're coaching North next year.

Clarko: Hello Ricky, yes, I'm looking forward to coaching North.

I know Event Horizon deleted the post but I saw it here and The Prez not having the balls to approach Clarko is just hilarious.

I mean, she's got the balls to actually take the on the job of running the footy club, sacked Noble.

The misogyny from folks who are frankly pissants in the great scheme of things is just breathtaking.

This to me is a crucial element.

Nah. Norman would insist on meeting naked, so it wouldn’t proceed.
He would also insist that all other attendees at the meeting are chopped into small pieces and removed from the meeting venue in a suitcase.

However, the people who do the chopping up are actually really good blokes and it was all just a bit of a misunderstanding.

Clarkson would also want to avoid the perception he knifed Noble, or has his blood on his hands.

Noble is a very well respected industry figure. He worked with Fagan at Brissy who was a Clarko disciple.

There's friendships and relationships in play.

There's friendships and relationships in play.

This is an often forgotten part of things.

It always made me laugh when Carlton chewed up Bolton and spat him out and then thought they would have Clarko ride in on a white horse desperate to coach them.

Like you just ground a mentee of his to a pulp, why in earth would he go there?

Anyway I look forward to a process I have no say in being over and we have some clear air for our new coach to build from where we are.
