USA Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders. The need for strong progressive voices in US politics.

The moron is the former barmaid.

i had a quick gander at your posts. they are about one sentence and like this one equally fatuous. think i might ask chief to consider a kiddies board. you might feel more at home there.

Young mate needs to take a look at AOC's wiki. I know, I know, it's wiki, but it's the easiest google for some. Her education and academic achievements are quite good. Her life after graduation, cum laude, shows a strong work ethic and moral compass.
If that is what he classifies as a moron, I really wouldn't want to see the people he surrounds himself with.

or maybe English is not his native language and he's got a dodgy dictionary. :winkv1:

What do you have against kiddies?;)

Scotland invading this thread in a way that shows they must either cosplay as a centrist or just really really, not bright.

Let’s break it down:

“AOC Would Lose Badly!”

“She’s a hysterical 20-year-old in a 35-year-old’s body!”
“Trump would’ve won at a trot!”

Oh cool, another guy quoting Ben Shapiro to prove AOC is dumb while simultaneously confusing populism with Fox News talking points.

You really think the problem is progressives being too clear about who they fight for?
Newsflash: AOC has more cross-demo appeal than Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, or whatever empty suit the donors want. Working-class people—even those who don’t agree with her on every issue—respond to authenticity, economic populism, and actual fight.

Also: Americans didn’t say no to Medicare for All.
• They said no to corporate Dems who don’t actually want to pass it.
• You know who polls well on taxing the rich, raising wages, and cutting military spending? The American public.
(But sure, let’s pretend tariffs and ICE are popular because Trump screamed about them hourly.)

The “middle-aged white man” comment)

“If they want to win…”

Yes, let’s run another generic white guy with a donor-approved message and see how that goes. Maybe Mitt Romney will run as a Democrat in your Sorkin reboot. You don’t want to win. You want to look serious while losing.

You mistake your narrow centrist echo chamber for realism. You ignore structural voter suppression, media failure, and corporate interference while blaming progressives for not ‘appealing’ enough.
If the Dems actually ran on material change instead of focus-grouped neoliberalism with rainbow flags, we wouldn’t be here.
Trump didn’t win because America rejected AOC. He won because Democrats rejected being a real opposition.

Doesn’t have to be AOC running, but her and Bernie’s message of this being class warfare and not a culture war is the correct answer and the way out of this.

The moron is the former barmaid.

This isn’t about pronouns, or beer commercials, or your weird fixation with AOC’s old job. This is class warfare. And if you’re more angry at someone fighting for workers than the oligarchs robbing you blind, congrats—you’re not just in the wrong war, you’re fighting for the wrong side.

Lol why would i be angry AOC being associated with the Dems is a good thing she join up with the other cackling hyena .

You love “owning the libs,” but you just end up simping for oligarchs in gold elevators. Congrats on choosing feudalism with memes.

Do you dispute that fact? Ahh yes go running to the mods you sook.

clearly, to anyone with even a modicum of sense aoc is bright. she, to her everlasting credit, worked in some menial jobs to keep a roof over her head and help her parents as thousands of successful people have early.

as to the other stuff. i was patently - obvious to anyone with even the most basic cognition - sending you up. i’m not sure what the apposite word is to describe you. let me think. got it, moron.

good post. aoc ,along with bernie, and some others are at the forefront of putting the progressive message. for them, it’s more about the message than the messenger. aoc has often said so.

That she is a moron yes. Just because a person works or has worked in a service industry does not make them stupid. Looks at posters team, Melbourne. I had heard that Melbourne had a lot of entitled twats as fans. It appears this may well be correct. So moronic fool run off to mods yourself.

Funny you should say that because a form of techno-feudalism in a corporate dystopia is a common trope in Scifi, even some serious scholars have proposed possible futures like that. I started to consider if the US is edging toward it. Looking at some of the comments about AOC is pretty alarming, not just for the obvious racism and misogyny, it's the things they don't want - they don't want universal healthcare, they don't want labour rights, minimum salaries etc. Talk about folks being "complicit in their own oppression". Or they are bots. I hope they are bots because it depresses me no end that so many human beings can be so intensely stupid.

You nailed it, CD Xbow. It’s staggering how many people actively cheer against their own interests—rejecting healthcare, workers’ rights, or livable wages just because someone told them it’s “woke.” Whether it’s disinfo, bots, or good old-fashioned Stockholm Syndrome, it’s the greatest trick the oligarchs ever pulled.

The techno-feudalism point is especially spot on—it’s not dystopian fiction anymore, it’s just Tuesday in the real world. Between Musk, Bezos, and Trump, it’s like Neuromancer and Idiocracy had a very stupid baby.

Keep sounding the alarm. We need more voices calling this madness out.

I think I know where young mate got his "bar maid" inspiration. Old Marjie from Georgia ranted about AOC in a podcast for not owning a business, or being married with children.
“This is a woman, she’s never been married, she has no children, she’s never had a job other than working in a bar,” Greene said of Ocasio-Cortez. “This is a woman that has really no life experience and has no life wisdom because she’s never done any of those things.”
Looks like he's Marjie fan.

in addition to the xenophobia and the divisiveness that the extreme right is so good at exploiting trump has an appeal to those the research calls “low-effort thought” people. “this low-effort approach to information is also echoed in studies of receptivity to false information”. trump has said “ i love the poorly educated”

he also tends to appeal to evangelical christians - “sectarian denominations who tend to hold fundamentalist, inerrantist views of Christian scriptures.”

the final sentence was:

Trump’s campaign may also have been more attractive to people with low cognitive sophistication and a preference for low-effort information processing because compared to other candidates Trump’s speeches were given at a much lower reading level (Kayam, 2018; Wang and Liu, 2018)”
