That was an incredible display, I've never seen everything work so perfectly for us, even that crazy snap goal from Darcy that would've been touched on the line any other week landed just perfectly.
All the players who've mostly been potential exceeded our wildest expectations today - Switkowski, Amiss, Chapman. All our elite players were at their peak - Young, Clark and Sharp are just such a joy to watch. How the hell were Clark and Sharp so undervalued by their former clubs? They're both AA potential.
Amiss overcoming the yips is just massive for his confidence. Jackson and Treacy and Amiss formed the perfect, formidable forward-line today.
Just too many positives to mention, the boys will take so much confidence from this.
Lol at the media making it all about Lever's absence.
48 clearances to 23
68 I50 to 37
138 contested possessions to 96
Melbourne's midfield was destroyed. Perhaps they are too used to Gawn winning the ruck and feeding them that they have forgotten how to shark opposition ruck taps?
Nothing wrong with our work in the center. We are No 1 in the AFL for clearances.
At least on Access All Areas Matthew Lloyd said that Lever's absence bore minimal influence on the result. He was more critical of their pressure around the contest.Lol at the media making it all about Lever's absence.

Yeah but...dour, boring, unwatchable.
Melbourne has failed to continue to improve their list, a lot like us during our little successful period suggesting they'll have a decent rebuild stage.Convening thing for Melbourne is the age of their most important players.
Gawn is 33, viney 30, May 32 and Petracca 28.
Oliver is 26 but I’d say he’s a decent chance to get traded.
Other than Caleb Windsor who will be a very good player, and JVR who projects as acceptable, there’s not much going on underneath.
That 2021 team was good enough for another premiership. That they’ve gone straight sets two years in a row and look in further trouble now is 100% a reflection on their coach.Convening thing for Melbourne is the age of their most important players.

I'm not laughing at your post, I'm laughing at the use of Borat which always tickles me for some reasonThat was the win we've been building towards. It all clicked and we looked a million bucks. Melbourne OTOH were putrid, and they got what they deserved.
If Adelaide are desperate for Harrison Petty they should trade him out and get some good picks (last year Adelaide reportedly offered an early and later first round pick). He does next to nothing. Melbourne drafted Jed Adams (from Peel) who I liked just after we drafted Hugh Davies. The player they drafted with the Luke Jackson pick Jefferson is a tall forward who whilst taking some time to develop could replace Petty up forward and give about as much as he does.Melbourne has failed to continue to improve their list, a lot like us during our little successful period suggesting they'll have a decent rebuild stage.
They should have at least a couple more years of being up there though, the main problem being Gawn who has been very influential for them, losing Jackson was a big list hole which they got Grundy for but it failed to work enough in the short term.
Also ala Brissy there's a different challenge which is maintaining the rage and staying at the peak of your game.
Of course the issue for them will be the timing of the Tassie team and when they're looking to get more talent in.
Bit unfair, Jackson's only 22.Convening thing for Melbourne is the age of their most important players.

Their pressure and general skills were abysmal, like, our pressure was good but it was astonishing how many simple kicks they missedAt least on Access All Areas Matthew Lloyd said that Lever's absence bore minimal influence on the result. He was more critical of their pressure around the contest.
Oliver and Petty for sure. Can’t see them parting with Petracca and Gawn.We had a good discussion at the start of the year on Melbourne Dockeroo and in light of yesterday I'll repose the question, would your meandre in and around the 8 for a couple of years or would you retool around Windsor and JVR and start again before Tassie join? They could get the absolute world for Petracca and a good bit for Oliver over two years. Then have Viney, Gawn and the role players they have hold the fort for a couple of years
Yep, should have won a second flag but they are gone now. Gawn and Petracca are the only ones holding the culture together, and judging by Petracca's body language yesterday he might ask for a trade. That 2021 team was good enough for another premiership.
