Re: All Australian Watch: 2011

lol. Seriously, what is the difference between a FF/CHF/tall flanker these days.

There's still a difference, buddy is buddy and call him what you like but he gets the job done, but a mear mortal flanker can't be compared to a genuine CHF, a genuine FF can't be compared to a genuine CHF, need a massive tank to play CHF and you need size, you wouldn't want to be kicking the ball to a 50/50 from HB as your flanker as the target all that often IMO, you want to be kicking it to your CHF who can win or at least kill the contest on a consistant basis.

I can still make an argument that Franklin is ahead of Cloke as the best CHF in the game right now, with Jack Riewoldt the best FF. But really those 3 are the best key forwards so I don't care which positions in the AA team they get, with Kennedy 4th and probably missing out at this stage.

The key defensive posts are probably harder to pick standouts in.

He's the best contested mark for a long time. Doesn't mean his the best CHF. Franklin plays CHF and is superior to Cloke in almost every statistical category, to go along with 4 more BOGs this year than Cloke.

Nick Riewoldt & Johnno Brown are much, much better players than Cloke when fit and in form. Josh Kennedy is about Clokes equal currently, but would prefer Kennedy as he has more scoreboard impact, a lot more.

He hits the scoreboard a lot more (10 goals in front) because he has played entire games at FF, cloke hasnt, you need to factor that in when comparing the 2 as a CHF.

You can't be serious. Franklin has the biggest tank in the game, hence why he picks up 21 possessions a game lining up in the forward line and still gets 8 scoring shots a game. He shits on Cloke as a player.

Franklin and Cloke both get 6.7 marks a game this year, but Buddy takes his by burning players for pace on the lead, and Cloke takes his contested. The difference is Franklin is superior by a mile in almost everything else as stats will show.

There's no prerequisite skillset to play any position.

That'a a lie, he has never played an entire game at FF in 2011. Ask any Hawthorn supporter, any of them. You can't pick up 21 touches a game playing the entire game in the 50.

No offence man, but you really shouldn't tell blatant lies all the time. It's getting pretty boring.

Lol, i was talking about kennedy mate. ;)

Cloke is good, but because of his wayward kicking I think a fit J Brown is more damaging and a better CHF.

Cloke is in career best form no doubt. Good on him.

Pretend Riewoldt and Brown have kicked 50 goals so far this year. LeCras or another pocket has 40. That a few other mids/half forwards have the two HF spots sealed. That leaves CHF left. On current form between Cloke and Franklin who gets it. Franklin? because he has clearly been better than Cloke this year. Or Cloke? because he is more of a CHF?

Franklin without a doubt.

I think you mis-understood, franklin is the bst player in the comp IMO, has an absolute massive tank, could easily play as a midfielder IMO, i wasn't comparing cloke to buddy because there is no comparison, i just think you could play buddy anywhere (including CHF) and he would be the best, so why play him at CHF if you had a cloke to do the bullocking work?

I think clokes been one of the 3 best KPFs this year, so IMO he deserves a spot ATM.

Yeah, but Franklins averagin 21 touches, nearly 7 marks and just under 4 goals a game to go with 4 BOGs. They're in completely different leagues atm. Franklins the best CHF by a mile.

Kennedy & Cloke are the next best KPFs, then probably Riewoldt.

Re: All Australian Watch: 2011

I sincerely hope he has an 'actual' tank and you aren't referring to running capacity

He has one of the biggest tanks in the game. Have you ever been to a Hawthorn game and watched him the whole game. The reason he is able to amount possessions like a midfielder, and also get a heap more shots on goal than any other player in the comp isn't down to his marking ability. It's down to his workrate.

Yeah franklins the best KPF this year, cloke could even be no2 with kennedy 3rd, jack hasn't been that great has he?, maybe they'll plonk buddy at FF, they've done shit like that before.

Buddy could be named at FF, but he has played a more CHF/Wing role this year. If Cloke makes it, which he probably will, they would have to name him at CHF or on the bench. Kennedy could be named at either FF, CHF or bench as well.

Jack Riewoldt has done next to nothing this year. Would be very surprised if he makes it.

Daniel Wells is AA quality this season. Injury free, getting help from quality young inside mids, coached correctly. Gun.

look at that....goldstein been pretty much #1 ruck all year being in centre often....leuenberger has played whole games fwd and rotated with clark/mccauley, point is had he been in centre like goldy, he'd have had 38 or so hitouts a game. Everyone talks up goldy when Leuey's been good too. And I'm a crows fan, and north are my second team.

Re: All Australian Watch: 2011

I really don't think Goldstein will make the team though, so it doesn't really matter.

I mean, if the team were to be announced now he'd be in with a shot I guess, but coming into the second half of the season with Mumford, Jamar and Sandilands returning from injury, his chances are slim.

Re: All Australian Watch: 2011

Probably wouldn't have a second ruckman in the team anymore. Guys like Ablett are overtaking Sandilands now on season form (I know he is injured but he wasn't dominant enough pre injury to be able to miss games). Cox clearly no.1, so that should be enough.
