I used to work at a venue, albeit a different one. I think you need to speak to the manager of whomever is in charge of ticketing services, as there will always be house seats that are held back for various reasons (staff, sponsors, media, VIP allocation and so forth). The people on the front line usually don’t have the authority to give them out this far out from an event, but they will exist.

Whatever you do - don’t yell or be aggressive at the staff as they will mark your account with a keyword and the manager will nicely tell you to GAGF even if they have a house seat for your needs. If you are nice and explain the situation, you might end up with a suite ticket that doesn’t look like it will be used.

Thanks so much for that man, that's super helpful.

I hadn't even considered those ticket hold-backs - I was relying on more tickets being held back for actual accessible seating. But I don't care how it comes!

I even said to the woman on the phone today that part of the frustration was because there was no one to yell at, cos I knew it wasn't her fault, and I know that Ticketek don't care.

The more I think about it, the other part of the frustration is just these little micro-aggressions on behalf of society that remind those of us with a disability that for all the good will in the world, and for all the laws in the world, some people still consider us an inconvenience, and the world will never be quite as welcoming or accommodating as it should be for us. And that's coming from someone that 'only' has a ****ed back, it wasn't until my doctor and Centrelink insisted that I was even comfortable calling myself a person with a disability.

I'm fortunate that I'm rarely faced with such profound examples of what feels like discrimination (whether it's conscious or unconscious, deliberate or otherwise). But whenever I do, it usually flattens me like a piece of road kill, and usually takes me much longer than this to realise that's why I was so upset. That's something I guess!

That cap was the one I wanted to buy the other day.

I'll be buying it at the show if they have it (if I end up going!)

Can you let us know how you go?

I work in the music industry here in Brisbane, and we have some business connections both with BEC and Ticketek - I think it's really important issues like this get solved to ensure our venues are as accessible as possible.

It sucks that you have to go through these issues.

BEC are claiming that they've spoken to the promoter, and they still don't have anything to offer me.

And now I am really getting upset at BEC despite it not being originally their fault, cos I'm explaining my needs and telling them why their proposals are either unworkable or a massive downgrade, and they're just trying to insist to me that it'll be fine, it'll be better than Suncorp.

I don't need them selling me bullshit that is only going to make me get upset with them, I just need them to solve the problem.

I don't know why you have to get audibly upset and remind people of accessibility obligations before they'll do anything to help.

----

In other news, BEC says that the promoter aren't doing refunds for the change of venue.

My response? "Yeah, we'll see."

I'm not above making complaints to disability discrimination commissioners in Victoria and Queensland.

So, where did they leave it? Are they still pursuing options?

Yeah, I cried, so they've gone back to the promoter again.

Incredible power move for a middle aged dude ;)

If you need to make a complaint, then go for it.

I find it pretty staggering that they haven’t been able to help you. They have plenty of seats left for sale and with rows and rows of empty seats, if accessible seating is all taken, there should be a procedure or process in place where some of the unused plastic seats are taken off sale, unscrewed and extra accessible seating created in its place.

Wait... is she going to win it and get back to the main event already?

I know I've been critical of them not announcing stuff, but Toni Storm seems like one where they should've used all the time they had.

What did we do to deserve this?

No idea who wins or takes the pin, but I like putting 3 babyfaces together making it so unpredictable.

They'll all be in the gauntlet match next week anyway, so the stakes aren't as big, but it's a huge match up.

Hope it goes for 12-15 minutes with a group hug thrown in as well at some stage, and hopefully, no interference from May or Mone.

I wonder who it could be… hmmmm

Tay Melo return as well?
might get some Stardom appearances either this week or next since Mayu, Mina, AZM, HANAKO and Maika are in the US for NJPW Battle in the Valley this weekend. Just depends when they are flying back. (although they have a triple-show weekend on the following weekend, so might be less likely than I hoped)

If Toni goes over in the gauntlet, its going to create a very good build for Grand Slam Australia.

You got to think that every week Mariah May will try something to snap Toni out of this "amnesia" she is experiencing.

I think Mariah will get more and more comfortable with the fact that Toni has lost it, and Toni will do a Linda McMahon during the match

I might have a solution for Brisbane. I'm not overly excited about it, and I'm not even prepared to jinx it by saying anything more about it... but it's an outcome that I think I can live with.

I've had a couple of predictions come true in the past year.
Christian as Swerve's first challenger.
The last 2 months of booking for that loooong MJF and Cole rivalry.

Here is my next one...

MJF and Kenny Omega are both scheduled to appear on Dynamite this week.
Both are former champions, and both have recently said they want the AEW title again.
Here is your next fued.
I expect they'll be in the same segment tomorrow.

If you guys with tickets are lucky, it could me Omega vs MJF in Brisbane, with the blow off at Revolution so Kenny is then free to face Okada at All Out Texas.
