Malcolm has no spine. He's made that quite clear recently.
The only thing he has over Shorten is his charisma. There's nothing else left.
If you go back and look at Turnbull's history it's pretty clear he is not spineless. I think even Packer admitted that he was a little scared of him. His political judgment is a different matter though.

I can tell we've reached a true high point in political discourse when we're quoting Buzzfeed quoting Twitter.
No need to be serious all the time, I though Buzzfeed was a bit of fun. Lighten up;)

+1, also Morrison, Turnbull and Bishop or not conservatives like Abbott so if one of them takes over they can sell a new policy direction that will ameliorate the inevitable ALP slogan "new leader, same old rubbish government".
but the more the Libs say "we dont wanna be a rabble like Labor", they are reminding the electorate they are the rabble like Labor.

It is projection, and talking into the mirror and the party room, but it does them immense damage everytime they confirm it to the electorate. Just bringing in Malcolm or Julie or Scott wont change this. They might get a bounce, but come election, it wont be forgotten. The refrain serves to entrench it in the electorate. They are exactly like Labor. All the denials and projection only reinforce it you bunch of fools. The only politics that counts for the Libs atm, is the caucus.

But like their Opposition last term, was not Opposition to be the government, it was opposition to turf the sitting gov't, and did not give them the setting to govern. It was a rod for their own back. The best opposition will never be a sound government when they have succeeded being an opposition by turfing the sitting gov't, lets call it, the paradox of Opposition. GuruJane for all her guru status, never understood this. Guru in name only.

Being on Paul Murray Live is the equal to being on the O'Reilly Factor (hosted by Bill O'Reilly) on the U.S. Fox News Channel.

Going on Paul Murray isn't even "appealing to the base". It's desperately hoping for a massaged interview to appeal to about 11 conservative pensioners from NSW.

How do you think the leadership vote will pan out on Tuesday/Wednesday? Who'll get the most number of votes, and what will be the finishing order of the vote?

Can't tell just yet. Wait until Monday. The weekend jockeying will be interesting. I imagine we'll get a Newspoll too.

It's like how Abbott keeps saying he is keping his commitments, instantly it reminds people of his broken promises.

Well she can't be that powerful if she let Malcolm run along with Utegate and Tony come up with knights and dames.
Not so much a lack of power as alack of intellect.
Which....was always pretty evident given she has worked for Turnbull and Abbott.
Straight off proves shocking judgement or lack of moral fibre.

Who is this Paul Murray?

Oh! Sky nobody...

Getting a vibe it's not going to happen now and we'll be back here in a month to six weeks time to do it.

Considering they've absolutely botched everything else in government, I wouldn't be surprised if they needed two goes to knock Tony off.

I am included to think that there will not be a challenge soon, I think that next week will be all about: we have listened to you, co-payment gone, Higher Ed severely watered down and it will be all about security.

Deary me. I hoped they wouldn't stoop to that to save themselves from current pressures. They really are pathetically low.

And consider this-say if Turnbull won the vote, the Nationals have threatened to walk away from the Coalition partnership-a situation not seen since the 1987 'Joh for Canberra' episode, which ripped the Coalition to shreds and allow Bob Hawke to win his third term in office.

If it's the beginning of the Nats reforming themselves ala WA, they should do it.

Empty threats IMO, it would condemn the Nationals to the fate of the Democrats with the range of Independents, Palmer and other right wing rural types taking up their vote.

Have you already forgotten what you posted?...

The Gonski report was focusing on education.

Education is something that you seem to lack knowledge of.

I posted the report focused on schools and the reason for that post was to clarify it was "not" about universities.

So yes the report was about education and to be accurate it was about schools. So I still don't understand the call of "bullshit".

edit: not
