Pick 91 will be a rookie list upgrade. Someone like Watson so doesn’t matter how late it is in the draft

Seems more and more likely we will only use one draft pick and upgrade 2 rookies (Watson and Edwards?).

Now that 'overpay' Kelly pick is a downgrade from 33 to 46.

Does not seem so expensive now.

Our club really does like the pick swaps trades doesn't it. Don't think there's been a season since it was introduced that we haven't done it has there?

Wonder if Geelong would do 37 + 93 for 46 and our future 3rd. The last 3 drafts the last pick has been 78 78 and 77 so pick in the 90s will end up being in the 70s anyway.

Can't see Georgiades getting there unfortunately, his stock has really gone up since the combine.

Would be happy to give Prior or Garcia a go

That was the one.

Also waiting on the dust to settle with clubs and draft picks. With clubs that have too many picks this year that have value we may well be able to trade the geelong future third for a third rounder this year. Particularly if we have specific targets in mind.

Late picks are still semi useful, not completely worthless.

If someone we rate unexpectedly slides the whole draft and isn't picked up we can always jump on in with a late ND pick rather than take the chance on getting them through the rookie draft, unless i'm mistaken.

I think rarely that happens though. Bare in mind it costs more so it'd have to be pre-calculated.
