Here's a (2017) photo of Lachlan Potter:

I'd like to hear your views on those haircuts Vicky Park

Neil doesn’t get paid????

Wow.

I thought it was a paid role / job.
Sure a job of love and not about big dollars.

As for today's training, there was no Wells, Greenwood (although I spotted him toward the side), Treloar, Maynard or Crisp. Goldsack ran laps for a bit. Dunn was out there briefly. Shaz also did laps, increasing his speed the more he did.

One of the drills the boys did was... they played a game of Soccer.
Bulldogs players played soccer yesterday I think.

Maynard hasn't been sighted for a while and I'm pretty sure Crisp was on the sidelines for the trial the other day. Interesting.

My wife is a myotherapist and she sees someone that works at a certain club across the road. And I have the pleasure of saying that that particular club take dance classes.

IIRC there’s another time trial later in the pre-season. Maybe they sandbag this one to show a pre-season training improvement?
Well that isn't a good thing if they have done that
Really, why?
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you suggesting they deliberately ran worse times than they were capable of just so they could show better improvements later in the preseason
Ok, I'll correct you

No, I wasn't

Dude seriously what is with the attitude? It’s cool to just say you were mucking around. Mk was nothing, but polite. Out of curiosity could someone ask BJ what on earth he apparently meant with that suggestion??

Is that Stevo? I’ve just commented on his hair in his dedicated thread.

It’s upset me TBH, finding it hard to concentrate. Don’t know why some of these lads don’t get it. Grooming. It’s important.

Pretty disappointing from our media department. The photo's clearly from last year before Murphy's incredible growth spurt.

Nah, someone’s been using photoshop. They placed Murphy at the back and then deleted some of his legs.

They are now hiding our giant.

It’s all trick photography to disguise the 8 foot giant.

Normally I'd be much more conservative about easing kids in and letting them earn their stripes via the VFL, but Stephenson turned that concept on its ear.

Stevo is genuinely elite which worked in his favour, but while IQ is not at that level of talent by any means, he's physically ready to go before even doing a preseason. Looks mentally very mature also. Super impressive so far in terms of attitude (based on our limited access obviously). So it's really only his gamecraft as a defender that needs to be proven to be up to senior standard. He will get opportunities at JLT etc. to show his wares.

Definitely going to play some senior footy this season.
Stevo brings something different to the team and I think IQ can do the same

Probably that it was me who was suggesting it, not him.

If you’re taking Mk’s post ultra literally, yeah it wasn’t him suggesting it, but the “bingo” was obviously a statement of affirmation in response to your post? Then following up with querying why it’s an issue? Besides did it really warrant the attitude to a pretty reasonable question?

FWIW I know it happens for varying reasons. I’m just confused by the reaction to Mk and as your aware BJ ignores the half of the board that dares to speculate on the club being able to do better so he hasn’t read a post of mine in a while and won’t be acknowledging this post.

Edit: Mkcaptain my take on why it happens is that every players on an individual program and we just don’t know what their instructions are. For instance player x might be on a program that has him limited to 80%, he’s wearing a GPS tracker and getting live feedback from that. Come the new year player x’s program shifts and they’re cleared to go at 90-100%. Suddenly they get a spike. I’d be shocked if any of them go full rat power at any point pre or post Xmas because it’s the most token thing they do on the track.

Yeah, Crisp and Greenwood were lingering around yesterday, but didn't train. Maynard I saw walking on the ground with Caff, but that was it. Today, no de goey. Maybe it's just about managing loads until after christmas?

  • Remember this guy, Collingwood fans?
  • Forward Jamie Elliott is the Magpies’ forgotten man after missing the entire 2018 season as the Pies charged to the Grand Final.

The 26-year-old won the club goalkicking in 2017 before last season was derailed by ankle surgery and hamstring problems.

  • That’s why these images will warm the hearts of Magpie fans looking for a way to go one better in 2020.
  • Elliott looked in great shape as the full Magpies squad trained in 35-degree heat today, taking part in running drills and ball work in a pair of flashy pink boots.
  • Boom recruit (o_O) Darcy Moore and top draft pick Isaac Quaynor were among the other Pies to catch the eye at the Holden Centre.
  • Elliott and Darcy Moore have just returned from Germany, where they visited world-renowned hamstring specialist Dr Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt.

Collingwood hopes the trip will be a circuit-breaker in both players’ injury-plagued careers.

The Pies needed just one more goal to claim the 2019 premiership. Given Elliott has kicked 30-plus goals in every season he has managed more than 15 games, keeping him on the park will be a priority next year.

Hun reported last week that De Goey will have managed loads until Christmas because of that shin issue.

Not worth getting wound up about what somebody says on the Internet. We all have our personalities and foibles and bad days.

Anyway, my opinion about it ...

... we happily accept that finals games are a lot more intense. Why would they be? Shouldn’t footy players and their coaches always put 100% no matter the game?

I guess it’s human nature that our effort usually depends on what is on the line.

This time of year, there’s not much in the way of motivation. Sure, players put in 100% now, but towards the end of off-season when players are competing for spots then the 100% then is even bigger.

My ex father in law (now gone on to the heavenly league) played for many years and captained Cohuna, after retiring he gave his time to the club as recruitment officer, fund raising manager and anything else the club needed.
People like him are what keeps grass roots football alive and healthy, the same can be said for our volunteers and the families who support them.

There's no tomorrow in the big dance, that has been known to stiffen many a spine and cause a few to step over the line because the prize may well be worth the penalty.

Well stuff it. If we are going to lose the flag by a goal again next year I may not bother watching.:huh:
