Can a player be suspended for not showing duty of care to a player on their team? Honest question. They are all human beings out there.

The point of having this rating system and penalties is to change players behaviour (intentional or careless) so as to minimise/deter these outcomes.

If an opposition player would have needed to be more careful in that situation in approaching the contest, I’m not sure why Rohan doesn’t need to take as much care.

I agree with this which is perplexing. Why does it matter what jumper they are wearing? Surely a careless act that results in injury is exactly that. Duty of care surely should extend to all competitors on the field.

That fact that he has taken Cameron out of at least 2 games (I think given that Cameron was out before he hit the ground doubt he will be back in a fortnight) is penalty enough.

It was being discussed on radio today. From what I can gather there is nothing in the rules to say that you can only be suspended for an act on an opposition player.

I don't think it will ever happen (being suspended for accidentally knocking out a fellow teammate)

There has been hundreds of cases of 'friendly fire' throughout history.

And no doubt Rohan would be feeling really rotten about himself, no doubt he would be told to try be less reckless in future, but he is not a dirty player, and I honestly don't see anything good/positive about suspending him.

Knew Danny since 1976, he was going to be our Brekky's Key Note the year he made his choice, still crying still visit his tree in Gordon, still miss our old school mate. Only non Blues game all year I actually give a toss about, tonight I'm a Sainter.....

It's not the same thing exactly , but i knew the late Jim Stynes on a strong personal level as a troubled teen (he saved me during a personal time of crisis in my life, going homeless or worse etc) and as such will always have a soft spot for the Dees (was absolutely thrilled/crying when they won the flag in 2021)

Everyone talks about how great Jimmy was, but I saw it first hand in my time at Reach Youth, he saved hundreds, if not thousands of troubled young teens lives.

He was the most extraordinary and giving human being I ever met, like the absent father I never had ...

Hope the Sainters win tonight for you and in memory of Spud, whom from all reports was also a very kind, generous and giving person.
