And there you have transgressed from an AFL supporter to a Carlton supporter. Nick Daicos' last quarter was sublime.

Take away the BS 50m penalty that gifted him a goal

Pay the obvious holding the ball against him deep in North's forward line.

Suddenly the discussion goes from how good he was in the 4th quarter to how he cost them the game.

Two pretty simple decisions

We have something undeniably in our favour - time!

If the finals started next week, Sydney would be hard to stop.

it’s a long way off, we have a big upside & not sure Sydney do.

It’s going to be fun to watch our team develop over the next 10 weeks!

I agree with this.

If finals were won in June... They'd be premiers.

People will point to the injuries they have had to start the year, and that's fair, but I do wonder if they haven't struck their perfect recipe already and including Mills and Parker might throw some things out of balance.

They're the types of changes that really change the dynamic. It could make them unstoppable but they're going to well it could be too well.

Aside from Pittonet the only returns we're waiting for are dynamic builders rather than changers.

Regardless, they are deserved strong favorites.

Carlton supporters are deluding themselves that the MCG will turn the tables on the Swans. The Swans have a generational midfield, best coach in the league, grandfinal experience and they are putting together one of the great seasons. The other grand finalist will need to create the upset of the century to beat them. It is not impossible but realistically, the rest of the comp is playing for 2nd
No-one is as strong a favourite as Geelong were in 08, or Richmond were in '18.

The ball's shaped like an oval, and frequently bounces in unexpected ways.

With Cin tagging, and must play every week, Cerra putting together 10 uninterrupted games, he becomes the ‘changer’.

He is the silk we are missing on the outside. Comes in at the expense of Ollie for mine. Gives us 20% better ball use and is a finisher…

It can be done but you don’t want to play your 1999 Grand Final the week before.

Laura Kane

What a farce!

“THE AFL says umpires were right to not award a 50m penalty to North Melbourne late in its loss to Collingwood on Sunday, but has conceded the official erred by not calling play on or directing the Magpies players to stand the mark.”

I shit you not, Clarko could be the worst coach in the league.

The strategy couldn't be more clear - you tag Daicos, you beat Collingwood (or at least dramatically increase your chances to beat them). This is has been shown by Hawthorn, Dogs - maybe others I can't remember - but it's just not that ****ing hard to comprehend.

Phillips absolutely toweling him up, and they get to a 9 goal lead. Then he SUBS HIM OFF - doesn't move him, or make it a softer/run-with tag, he ****ing subs the bloke off! Daicos runs absolutely riot and they win via 10 goal run.

What the actual **** is that? That's not just a poor tactical move that coaches make every week, that is a genuinely unexplainable club-****er of a decision.

I don't watch North every week, but does he pull this crazy shit every week? Is he now just loopy old Malthouse-esque angry has-been? I'm both baffled and furious about this decision. **** off Clarko, so glad we didn't get him.
That's the "I missed Harley Reid last year, I won't do that again" move.

Interesting take on this in the latest On teh Couch session - footage pretty much shows that Phillips was burnt out by half way through tried quarter Daicos was already off the chain...so the view was Clarkson actually did the right thing replacing him- except the bloke put on Daicos could do not run with him...
