I don’t want to wish injury on anyone, but how would they go without Grundy? Such a vital part of their team and play. We’ve managed so many crazy injuries w key personnel I wanna see the others do so too
Sydney are the type of team where 1-2 injuries could completely derail them. Fortunately for them all look to be at absolute peak fitness.

This team is bloody stacked, it’s insane.
When we played them the wheels fell off when Weitering got injured. We were 26pts up at one stage.

Add him to the below 7 players that didn’t play last time and it’ll be a different ball game if we play them in the finals.

Saad
Cerra
Martin
Motlop
Cotrell
Fogary
Cowan

My tip the dogs have the players they have a team. They haven’t had tall players they have a lot of good tall players they are learning how to play with tall players.
I’m not sure if they get the game play right but they have the players to contend

Fogarty, Martin, Cottrell, Saad and Cincotta have a massive responsibility for us this year. We are going to need their speed if we're going to try to keep up with the frenetic pace the Swans bring.

Not really, they've been without Mills and T McCartin for pretty much the whole year.

Not to mention losing P McCartin end of last year due to concussion retirement.

But yes, outside that they've had a charmed injury run, heard used something like only 28 players this whole year.

McCartins only missed a few games, Mills and Parker have missed the whole season so far. We'd kill for that sort of return from our S&C team.

Here's the problem, though.

Mills and Parker are both very good players, with Parker having accomplished more than Mills but Mills being significantly younger and in prime age. But both players are more contested and stronger, rather than precise and fast; Sydney have made their game this year on absolutely carving opposition sides to pieces on turnover, using pressure around the ball to create those turnovers. Mills is a good player, but he does not have Chad Warner's legspeed, nor is he going to step straight into Adam's role; Parker is almost 32, and while he used to be a terrific burst forward his role has been eclipsed by Papley as a mid/forward.

And Papley is much, much faster.

They're brutal because there's a critical mass of disposal quality through transition and legspeed. They **** with that - the reason why they're obliterating all comers at present - in pursuit of a mythic best 22 at their peril.

I think they will play Mills in the backline when he returns. Parker as a forward? Is good overhead for his size.

They're probably going to have to, that midfield's stacked.

But Mills behind the ball doesn't scare me. I've always felt that he's vulnerable to being chased down or knocked off the line.

Too many cooks?

Parker's a gun and is excellent overhead, but you've got Amartey who's just kicked 9 (with 7 marks), Logan McDonald who is another tall leadup, Papley is more than capable overhead and takes a lot of marks. They're a good kicking side, but how many targets is too many?

I dunno. If I were on their selection committee, I'd be extremely loath to include anyone who doesn't fit the way they're currently playing (fast and hard) because it's dynamite.

Sydney can't use their speed if they don't win and dominate the ground ball clearance game - no team can employ their add on attributes if they don't win the #1 factor in any contested game. Sydney have been blowing teams apart BECAUSE they are winning the hard ball for longer - what they can do with the ground ball wins is the bonus.

The challenge for any opposition is to beat them at teh source for 4 quarters and starve them of an ability to play the fast game.

Plenty of speedy teams have looked unbeatable until they ran into a brick wall.

10 weeks to work them out
